So do I. Rocker works for a private employer who is free to discipline for having a big mouth and violating terms of his contract.
Rocker is now with the Texas Rangers. He is a mere shadow of the pitcher he once was.
Do you only associate with people you agree with?
God, what a boring life!
How come this woman isn't running for mayor of Boston instead of mayor of Dallas?
And anyway, there's no such thing as too many guns.
"I was misquoted."
"That's not what I meant."
"It depends on what the definition of 'gun', 'gunshow', or 'city property' is."
"I support the rights of all legitimate sportspersons."
etc.
These are the words of Mark Davis almost verbatim.
Sig Heil!
Last I heard was he was in NYC. I don't consider that "national".
Regarding Miz Miller, she's been a rather high-profile city councilcritter in Dallas for some time now, and has been a vocal critic of the current mayor, Ron Kirk, who is resigning to run as a Liberal Dimocrat (I do so hate redundancy, though!) for Senator Phil Gramm's seat. Many, including Mark Davis himself, therefore thought she was a Conservative.
Wrongo!
Glad to hear it!
I just couldn't stay on that long - had to get back to work! :-)
And Mark is by golly pro-gun, no question.
He gave a very pro-gun speech to the Denton County GOP annual party a couple years ago as he was introducing Charlton ("My President") Heston.
Actually, Dunning began by saying nothing - there was just dead air - then he ventured that "That's a tough question."
Whereupon Davis interrupted him and said, "No, it's not; that's not a tough question at all: Are you for or against gunshows on city property?"
It's that "One gun a month" thing that has me worried: I just can't afford that many guns!
Mark Davis has already gone national. He has a Sunday afternoon national show.Mark Davis is an egotistical, holier than thou, Rush wannabe. Callers that disagree with him are generally treated with disdain and condescension. I pretty much turned him off for his virulence over the Elian Gonzalez case.
The last time I listened to him was during a drive to work, and I hit the wrong button on my car radio. The subject had to do with kids not being in school due to reasons other than sickness (vacation, Opening Day, etc). He was going crazy, questioning the fitness of parents for letting their kids miss a day of school! I listened to his holier than thou diatribe for about five minutes, and shifted back to another station.
Dallas talk radio, despite being a large market, is mediocre at best. I don't know how Davis gets his ratings, so I'm mystified there. KLIF has changed its lineup so many times that its impossible for anybody to gain any traction. I'll give Greg Knapp a try, but he's in a very tough time slot. I like Tom Kamb, but he was too over-the-top to listen to on a regular basis. His time was up when Police Chief Bolton won his case in court, and Dallas as a city is way too liberal for somebody like Kamb to survive.
I find myself turning more to Fox Sports AM from 7-11 (Tony Bruno has a great show - he at least tries to focus on sports, instead of the overemphasis on sex and scatalogical humor going on at The Ticket), then Rush, then Newy & Chuck in the afternoon (ESPN Sports). I used to listen to the Ticket, but they've been really going downhill in quality. It seems to me that they're grasping for material to fill the time. Considering their ratings, I know that I don't fit their main demographic: 25-35 year old single men who don't have a life.
116 stations for Davis' Sunday show, from the East coast to the West Coast.
Didn't the promoter also win monetary damages? Seems it was quite a chunk of change.
And she was leading the pack . . . bye bye Laura.
I stand corrected!
