Same thing here on Cape Cod and the islands. Full of rich, trust fund liberals, movie and academics. You go surfcasting on "their" beach and security will be down to throw your working class butt off.

I was just reading this on NR Online. This is so typical of the super rich liberal elite crowd. Remember Streisand and her ideas on energy conservation? When asked if she was going to hang her laundry on the line, she had to respond that these ideas were meant for others, not herself. They make me SICK!!!

You can almost predict this. I live in Santa Monica, and the Landmarks Commission wants to declare historic districts in much of the single family residential districts (or "investigate" the potential therefore). Because status as an historical district means that you cannot alter the exterior of your home, without pleading for the privilege to, the value of your property is lowered. That brought out my normally liberal neighbors to the Landmarks Commission to lodge protest. When it's your ox . . .

A delicious tale.
Needless to say, there's a longish German word for it. Rough translation: I feel your pain, and am grinning ear-to-ear.

I live in Utah, very near Robert Redford and his Sundance resort. Hiking around Sundance has always been free and open to those able to hike. The last few years though, things have changed. Sundance charges five dollars to hike through their resort, and now they've been successful in closing access to federal lands that border Sundance. Neat trick. Redford manages to skirt the laws and regulations when building anything at Sundance, but we mere mortals have to wait for 20 years to have the highway upgraded through Provo Canyon, because Redford and his environmentalist buddies decided the new highway would wreck the view. I am very well aware of the elitist attitude of the Hollywood crowd, we have more than our share of them in Utah. /off my soapbox now
One of the funnest things my friends and I do each year is to go to Park City, Utah during the Sundance film festival. We'll get a table overlooking Main Street, order dinner, and laugh at all the Hollywood types roaming the streets. They sure can be weird looking and their behavior is really something to behold. They all truly think they are God's gift to the world.

Don't you feel just a little sorry for them?
Just a teensy, weensy little bit? :-)

And there are legitimate safety issues: David Geffen has found random people in his living room who entered his home along the beach. yup. he might have had to slap them silly. oh, the humanity.

I'd like to see them become very vocal about property rights and attract more media attention. Let them try to win via media support. To no avail of course but it would bring the property rights issue in front a heck of a lot more people.

I'm feeling the urge to go walk the beach, with pickets of course.

Here's a Property Rights BUMP...maybe some enterprising Left Coast FReeper can get these NIMBY Liberals to donate to a fund to support property rights...then send the money to Klamath Farmers...man, I'll chip in just to see Babs being listed as a supporter of the farmers in Klamath Basin!
