I dare you to go out there and lick the arm of one of your deck chairs right now! LOL! Are they metal? Nice deck, BTW. Like your Hatteras lighthouse.

My son who gave me a beautiful hand-blown perfume bottle for Christmas... said the choice was between that and a scanner......now I need the scanner!

On my deck, I've got about the same amount of snow that you have. It's still coming down!

As usual, the grocery store was PACKED at noon today. By the stocking up people were doing, one would think we were going to be snow bound for weeks. I just made sure we had wine and beer for the evening. Oh yes, and toilet paper. Wine, Beer and toilet paper, the mainstays of life.

It is beautiful outside. I just walked our 7 month old puppy outside and she had a blast in it. Of course she's right at 6" tall, so the snow came up to her belly. It'll cover her tomorrow. Will she be shocked. I'll send pictures of her.

If this is your first dog in snow, prepare yourself for SNOWBALLS on its belly!

You may as well give up the top of your lighthouse. If you don't know by now, the squirrels will win. The squirrels will always win!

The first time they saw it, they knocked the top off and just snorted all the seed up. Now they bring straws, I think. :-)

I use WRAL all the time, but I just looked out the window and to my suprise it is coming down fast, little flakes just now, just like the big one oy yore. I'm gonna get off now, put my genuine imitation fire place tape on my VCR and sit in the dark and watch it snow.

Happy New Year to all, see ya'll tomorrow.

It snowed a couple of inches on New Year's Eve here in Midland, Texas (George and Laura's hometown, ya know) and it is cold as kraut. We had 8 inches right after Thanksgiving. Our second snow!

Chattanooga TV radar shows it snowing here in north GA mountains now, but I haven't seen a single flake. It was supposed to snow again here tomorrow and a 40% chance of snow every day for the rest of the week. I don't thiiiink so. I think the TV weather guys just like to scare people. Of course, they told us maybe 10"-12" in March of '93 and we got a record 24", so maybe they figure better safe than sorry.

It has been rather cold the last couple of days though, 12 Tuesday AM, 19 this AM, 30 right now and the ground is frozen hard as rock. Hope it doesn't buckle up all the road pavement around here like it did last winter. It took until mid-summer to get it all patched and repaved.

We are new here to Virginia Beach, we're just here for a few weeks. Back in San Antonio you'd get a "dusting" maybe once every couple of yrs. Our dogs are going to freak out. Neither of them had seen snow in S.A.

Easy winter in West Michigan, only about 2 1/2 feet on the ground so far...

I had a Yorkie years ago. Back in the 80s we had snow and really really cold weather. The Yorkie always wanted to go to the mail box and this day was no exception so I bunded her up and we went to the mail box (I carried her). When we got back to the house she turned around and looked at me with the expression ...Are you crazy?!!!! I swear if that dog could have dialed the phone she would have called the SPCA. Needless to say she did not want to go to the mail box the next day and from then on she would stick her nose outside the door prior to asking to go the mail box.

And they say dog's can't make a judgment call!

I just walked my pup back out (it's a little, black toy poodle named Savannah) and this time she was stepping really high. The patio is covered and when she went to step off, she tested it first. BUT, we just gave her a huge applause because she's big enough to pee a hole in the snow!!!

Coastal Georgia, it's been between 34-38 degrees, rainy, and windy all day long. Miserable. My sister, who is on Amelia Island FL, claims they had flurries today.

Greensboro here. There was nothing coming down around 7:00 as I went into church tonight. By 8:30 the ground was white and the cars were covered.

This is a real fine powdery almost misty snow and It was coming down hard and fast on the drive home. Typical in any southern snow storm, there were knuckleheads driving causing accidents and giving me a couple of scares during the drive. What normally takes 15 minutes took 40 and I managed to make it up to the top of my hill and get the car turned around and parked facing downhill so I can break out easily when its all over with.

I made a huge pot of chicken and dumplings so I'll be eating those tomorrow after I sleep late. Definitely no work here tommorow.

That's the look I've gotten for the last week when I have shoved my dogs out. It's been between 21-23 every morning. They stay out about 2 mins. and they are right back in.

In defense of southern drivers who don't know how to drive on snow.... we don't drive on snow, we drive on ice.

Freezing rain is the worst! I'd rather drive on sleet.
