I dunno... I hope you're right. Sometimes I think most folks in this country are past redemption though. We, as a country, can't go through the 60's and Dr. Spock and Vietnam and Timothy Leary and Clinton and school violence and Marilyn Manson and all the rest and not come out just a bit screwy in the noggin...

Alot of folks just don't have the same moral sense that was really taken for granted, say, fifty, sixty years ago... I don't think something like that can be easily regained, and certainly not in a short time...

I once had a black guy call me a honky. I then proceeded to honk like a goose every time I saw him. He finally burst out laughing and told me he would apologise if I would only stop the honking.This is how these things should be settled, not with public confrontations, or getting people fired!

It is those very 60's kids(myself excluded)who are running the universities, and public schools now. I really believe we need to dismantle the public school system as they have become nothing more than "brainwashing institutions" for the left.

I am a kid of the 50s and 60s. I was a public school teacher for 15 years and began to get disillusioned with it during the mid 80s. It got so bad that we had to be careful what we said, how we dispensed discipline, how we approached parents when there was a problem. The system was so concerned with self-esteem and the "feeling" side of education that anything that demanded learning "how to think for oneself" or anything that was "real-world" based took second place to the touchy feeling side of things. Needless to say, I don't teach any more and there isn't enough money in the entire universe to ever get me back teaching in a classroom.

How Do We Destroy Political Correctness In America.

I've always believed the idea of setting up liberal concentration camps would be a very positive means of eradicating political correctness in America. Very powerful P.A. systems would continuosly play Rush Limbaugh, Mike Savage, Michael Reagan and Dr. Laura. Staunch conservative Republicans would come in and hold mandatory "Conservative" workshops for the detainees. Speeches by Ronald Reagan would be replayed on television sets located throughout the camps.

Precisely! Since when have words so damaged someone (outside of true slander and libel) that they couldn't pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Have we gotten so comfortable with ourselves that we can't take it if someone calls us a name we don't like. My granny always said "consider the source". Someone secure enough with themselves shouldn't shed a minute's thought over something like that, but our society is obsessed with it (with a little help from a few greedy lawyers,too.)

Believe me I know how you feel.For 8 years, every time I saw Clinton as acting President, I looked upon this with absolute incredulity. But all things must pass, even the Clintons, and it is up to we freeper types to carry the message.

You sound like my dad. He taught Engish literature at several universities during the 60's and 70's, and fought with the faculty much more than with the students. When he was at the University of Massachusetts, he once told me that, with the exception of one othe professor, every teacher in the English Department was a doctrinaire Marxist !!

I am a big advocate of homeschooling. That P.C. bunk about the kids lacking in social graces if homeschooled is laughable. They can socialize after school, with sports, and on weekends.

Every day, some alert freeper posts at least one story whereby some individual or organization brazenly strips someones rights under the guise of "diversity", or alleged racism, or ersatz interpretation of the Constitution.

And don't forget about those examples where college commencement speakers are shouted down because the audience disagrees, not with what is said, but with the perceived political orientation of the speaker.

In other words, let's not forget that PC "enforcement" comes from both sides of the aisle.

The first thing to do is to take your kids out of govt. schools. And they can homeschool in college.
