To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, "Well...Here we go again."

If we hired someone who was into witchcraft or teaching witchcraft at (Christ Community Church) school, no one would come, he said. Perhaps he's just jealous.

I can't say I'm fond of Harry potter, but I thought such puritanical thinking was long dead. Oh well, so goes the legacy of the deformation.

Burning the books will be bad P.R. for the so called " RIGHT WING CHRRISTIANS". This preacher and his church needs to realize that the same laws that protect the Harry Potter books also protects all Christian books. It's call REEDOM OF SPEECH. The media will make them look like the Nazis back in the 30's.

Brock said he was not concerned with any public image the book-burning might give himself or the congregation. last December when we all decided to start wearing our underwear on the outside, well it did cause a bit of a fuss down at the grange hall, but hey, you just cant please everyone now can you?

Burning the books will be bad P.R. for the so called " RIGHT WING CHRISTIANS". . . . The media will make them look like the Nazis back in the 30's. Burning books is just stupid. I would not mind what this particular preacher does, except that this kind of activity can (and will) be used to smear all Christians.

Rather than preach against the "evils" of Harry Potter, this minister should preach the grace, riches, and resources of Jesus Christ.

The media will make them look like the Nazis back in the 30's. They don't have too. He's done that himself.

except that this kind of activity can (and will) be used to smear all Christians. It cannot. And that kind of thinking is why we must not stand for the hatred and bigorty shown all Muslims for the attacks of 9.11.
These Christian puritans are cranks and have to ignore the "occult" references that occur in their own bibles.
In no way do they have anything to do with the character of anyone but themselves.

Most "right-wing Christians" aren't burning books. But, who cares? Burning Harry Potter books or any other books has absolutely nothing to do with free speech. If someone wants to waste the money and matches, so what? If the government burned the books, that would be a concern.

I see this book burning as a simple symbolic rejection of the Harry Potter stuff. This act of defiance (Book Burning) is not "Evil" like you try to make it out to be but it is an expression of opinion by this congregation on this subject. I would like to see more of this type of protest among Christians. This is not going to deprive others from getting this book and you guys can print as many as you like. I believe that it is you guys who are misguided PC cretins and not this Church and its congregation. Harry Potter is teaching witchcraft is good and it goes against the teachings of Christ. You all need to get over it. You bow down to the one you serve and get what you deserve. As for the Christians I am sure we will do the same.

I think you are wrong and it has everything to do with free speech. Same as my owning a Gun is free speech. Now if you not getting the message then its not my fault.

You guys make out like anyone who suggests that certain activities are not good are Nazis. I suggest it is you folks who are the Nazis. Further more if you claim something is in the bible then you need to provide proof that what you say is true. You no doubt have never read that book.

I see this book burning as a simple symbolic rejection of the Harry Potter stuff. That may be how you see it, but most Americans (assisted by the media) will associate it with Nazi book-burning. And that association brings discredit to the cause of Christ.

How can this guy grump at Harry Potter and not say anything about the demonic symbolism of the Procter and Gamble Company? P&G's corporate symbol is full of demonic symbolism. mean, nasty, evil stuff! And, as proof, P&G sponsors evil programming on CBS. If there is any greater proofneede, I can't imagine what it could be. The evil influence of the devil can be seen in many places. In our never ending battle to conquer the forces of evil, let us not forget the evil that springs from here at home.

These threads serve one purpose--to allow our more fundamentalist members a chance to witness.
