Agree?: Rudy's public adultery & abortion advocacy disqualify him as a hero.

Hate the sin and love the sinner.

I agree. He should not be person of the year, but...
tell that to the liberals.
The ten commandments are not in their book!

Hate the sin and love the sinner.
But don't praise the sinner.
Love and praise are different.
Man of the year is a reward.
Jesus did not reward sinners who refused to admit or confess their sins.

What happened is that people forgave Rudy for his past mistakes in the wake of his courageous, exemplary handling of the 9/11 tragedy. For victory & freedom!!!

Does he advocate abortion or does he oppose criminalizing it? There is a difference. Besides, people do have other points of view on the subject. You don't have a monopoly on what is moral.

He's man of the year NOT because of his views on abortion or guns but rather because of his actions on and since September 11th.

Before Clinton he would of had to resign his office. After Clinton he is a hero. Is there anything wrong with this picture?

Is a man really a good leader if he publicly advocates serial killing of preborn babies? Has he really done this? Source please? How many more would he like?

Unfortunately, Time's man of the year has nothing to do with virtue. If I'm not mistaken, Time chose Hitler in 1938 & Stalin in 1942. They're likely to pick the anti-Christ when he shows.

Rudy's crime busting saved more black lives than anything any Dem has done in a generaton.
Rudy never aborted a fetus, and has no say over abortion policy. Clubbing electable GOPers with the abortion stick only helps our mutual enemies.
As for his failed marriage, one can only assume your animus enables you to remain oblivious to the public, deliberate humiliation Ms. Hanover subjected him to during his brief run for the senate.

Rudy was named "Person of the Year" because of his guiding and uplifting leadership in the aftermath of 9/11 -- for no other reason than this. For this, and for no other reason, he should be given his due.
I would also suggest that Time naming a "Person of the Year" is hardly akin to crowning someone king. Time could name Molly Yard "Person of the Year" from now until Doomsday. It's their magazine; let them do with it as they will. Why should we care?

Please explain how abortion can be both 'moral' and 'immoral' at the same time. Two opposing positions cannot possibly be reconciled when one or the other must be true and the other, false!

Yeah. One lied under oath. Forget that part?

If wife humiliates husband, husband is not morally free to keep a mistress.

By his silence he and others like him, are advocating it. Now, I do not agree that he should be person of the year, but my reasons have nothing to do with his stance on abortion or his adultery. Now, the only difference between Clinton and Rudy in this regard is that Rudy is not a hypocrit in the audultery aspect, he is out in the open about it.
I never have been a Rudy fan, he is just another RINO to me. But he handled the attack with purpose and grace, and we all should be proud of him as Americans.

hmmm.
no medals for soldiers, sailors, marines or aviators who cheat on their wives or support abortion regardless of what they do, huh? you are confused. you need to be looking under "s" for saint, not "h" for hero.
To: Pete53
Clinton should have resigned because he lied under oath and for obstuction of justice. When did Rudy commit these crimes?

Man of the year is a reward.Time's "Man of the Year/Person of the Year" is NOT a reward. It is unfortunate that they choose to use this title which carries positive connotations from its its usage in other arenas.
Time should more properly name the distinction "Newsmaker of the Year", which is what it represents by their definition. A person's character has no bearing on this determination. Keep in mind that Osama bin Laden was the other leading candidate.
