Yes, I agree. The Word of God has several levels, and only the one who will study and pray, and is prepared to spend real time and effort devoted to understanding it, will ever be privileged to know the deeper truths that are revealed in it. The Bible is a whole organism not a series of myths or histories, or even metaphors. It is the Spirit of the Lord, and if you yourself do not have a common nature to this Spirit, you will not be able to communicate with it. You will be before this great mystery, like a child perplexed, and some children react badly to frustration.

The Bible CAN'T be accurate! If Jesus really did rebuke his mother by calling her "woman," or if he really cursed a tree for not bearing fruit out of season, then he would have SINNED (it's called "wrath"), and Jesus is (supposedly) SINLESS. So the Bible CANNOT, by its very nature, be accurate.

Jesus never did sin ... Jesus' correction of Mary is not a sin ... that's a false conclusion ... neither is cursing the fig tree, which has a profound spiritual implication as found in Galatians ... you simply can't pull out one passage, here and there, and claim that it makes the Scripture unreliable ...

A great friend of mine once told me a truth about the Bible. It is easy for a new Christian, then it becomes difficult the more you study, then after a life of study it is easy again...

No other book will ever be the same, because the Bible was written by God's hand.
