Simply because you do not understand how global governance works does not mean that it isn't happening.
Everything you mentioned occurred because American leaders both State and Federal made the decision. We have far too many American politicians who are in agreement with their UN counterparts but that is not the same thing as the UN dictating American policy. To waste you time and effort fighting the UN is to ignore and excuse our own worthless Politicians. If you want to make a difference work to improve American leadership and they will have no problem ignoring the Joke that is the UN.
True. Cordell Hull was a perfect example. Some decisions approach irreversibility. Whose interests did he represent?
We have far too many American politicians who are in agreement with their UN counterparts but that is not the same thing as the UN dictating American policy.
Here we differ, if only because of the technical origins of that policy. Much of it comes from Switzerland.
To waste you time and effort fighting the UN is to ignore and excuse our own worthless Politicians.
I think you underestimate the power of coercion wielded at a Treasury auction.
If you want to make a difference work to improve American leadership and they will have no problem ignoring the Joke that is the UN.
We agree about that too (the UN being a bad joke), but unfortunately the joke is on you. It is that bad and it will get worse unless some not insignificant political groups learn to take a more constructive path. Too many American interests are tied up in making a fat and predictable profit using the UN, even if it is against American interests. Makes a big difference at campaign time. The taxes are in place to dispense the favors, the precedents are established in the courts, and just one more Democrap President could stick a fork in us. I don't think you would be so glib were Algore President now. How close was that?
I think you are engaged in wishful thinking. We have too many entrenched and growing interests in this country that intend to either profit or subsist by Gobble Grubbaimint. The schools are educating children as Citizens of the Earth as are Girl Scouts, various churches, and civic organizations. You are ignoring the threat in order to pretend that the Constitution is in effect. I do the same, but I don't pretend that there will be some sort of popular uprising to restore our system of government. I have other plans to turn this around.
Seriously though, it sounds as if you know precisely what is going on, so your eagerness to throw others who fight for soveriegnty to thw wolves is even more curious - not rare mind you, but curious.
When confronted with the eco-lobby, too many conservatives (and libertarians) fall back on the Teddy Roosevelt model of "conservation" as if he was doing anything different than we are today. Roosevelt and Congress nationalized land to please the railroad companies when he proposed Yellowstone, probably the first case of state-subsidized eco-tourism. What he really created was a State monopoly that prevented anyone from going into the park business in competition with government. He thus disinvested the entire outdoor recreation industry. People just don't see it, just like they don't recognize the UN in our midst.
