Good catch. American over there in civilian clothes, most likely.

I join you in loving them all. My heart goes out to all those captains, especially pilots who loved the military but couldn't take it anymore under Clinton and left. Many left in '98 and '99. I know they are just dying to be in it now with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld! Maybe some of them did come back.
I especially liked the pictures of the 10th Mountain men with the British Royal Marines. They're all BAD and seem to be enjoying each other. What great looking men. It just killed me to hear of those marines that hit the land mines. Pray, pray all the time.

Pray, pray all the time. Your whole post blessed me. I do pray alla time for our guys (all military, whether male or female = guys to me!). One prayer I pray every day is for God's strongest angels to be with our forces and allies, and that our honchos and soldiers (every branch of the military tree) will have wisdom and protection. Lately I've been asking God to push things together so that Osama and his buds rise to the top and can be picked off.

Those guys are Indian, per Diogenesis' post, so I don't think it's a MAADI. I think it's a variation of the INSAS (INdian Small Arms System), which is an AK-74 variant AFAICT.

Handguards and front sight post are a little different, but that could be a model variation thing.

Could be,at first I thought it was a cetme but the handguard is dif.

Yhank You, I believe you are 100% correct, There are so many variants of the AK it's hard to keep up with them, let alone remember them all :-)

It is so awesome to see Rummy, whose first tour of duty as Sec'y of Defense was one massive post-dem clean up op How can that be? His first tour as SecDef was for Ford, who followed Nixon. 1. JFK, LBJ = Viet Nam
2. Nixon = ended Viet Nam war
3. Nixon impeached; Ford ascends to presidency
4. Ford elevates Rumsfeld to Defense Secretary and he proceeds to do a darn good job of reversing the JFK-LBJ effects on the military.
Someone be so kind as to notify Charles Grodin, the dead raccoon he wears on his head has been found.
