I wonder how much she will be giving to the needy or organizations that could use some of her "liberal" earned money?

Her insipidness would be fine if it weren't for the malelevance associated with it. I don't watch but know that people in such positions have too much influence on the ideas and opinions of average Americans.

Now, my contribution to cheap celebrity travialities:

Watch the show to see the wonders of make-up.

She is surely not the only star to be beholden to the true artists and experts involved in show biz -- the make-up artists.

Gee. She's a multi-millionaire. Does that automatically mean the American public should trust her ... or does it mean they should automatically distrust her?

Thought Katie wanted to spend more time with the girls. Guess that was yesterday. $ vs Girls. $ wins.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - State Sen. Emily Couric, a rising star in Virginia's Democratic Party and the sister of NBC's "Today" show co-host Katie Couric, died Thursday [poster's note: October 18, 2001] of pancreatic cancer. She was 54.

Couric dropped out of the race for lieutenant governor after being diagnosed with cancer in July 2000. She stayed in the Senate and took on the co-chairmanship of the state party.

During six years in the Senate, Couric fought to make Virginia the first state to require insurance companies to pay for colon cancer screening, a law that passed last year. Katie Couric's husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998.

Born in Atlanta, Couric was the eldest of four children. She graduated from Smith College and worked as a journalist, writing for the Legal Times in Washington. She also wrote books about the legal profession.

She won a seat in the state senator in 1995 and was re-elected in 1999.

He has his whoopie light to highlight the silly pomposity and duplicitousness of the media elite. He is on "our" side in this. He is merely letting the whole world know that couric is two-faced: she hawks socialism on-camera while off-camera she is monitors the stock ticker to track her huge capital investments.

Drudge has the headline, "Couric Stays!" and his siren is going.
Is Matt having a laugh? It's a joke right? I mean, the perky host of a womens' morning coffee show is "staying" but nobody actually cares, right? (Stuff like this makes me wonder if I am socially or culturally "out of the loop". Somebody please tell me Matt's just into the comedy with the siren and all.)

When Katie Couric's husband died she stayed home from work, obviously. It was sometime during the Monica mess. She spent all that time, I am sure, watching TV and keeping an eye on the impeachment stuff. I can't remember exactly what she said but when she went back to work, I could detect a slight distaste for Bill Clinton in her voice. Of course, it didn't last long because she was back to her old self in no time, but it was nice while it lasted.

Her ratings are falling and like public school education.....money doesn't make it better. I like the idea that the media is throwing away their dollars. It's' there to do with as they wish....and you know they wouldn't be buying vouchers for poor kids with the money.
