Some professors say they are obliged to teach their perspective of the tragedy that they believe U.S. policies engendered the hatred that led to the terrorism. The hate America first gang.

Whine, whine, whine...
Nobody is "censoring" their academic freedom anywhere. These guys are just not used to having their leftist pablum criticized. They've been acclimated to sitting on a perch for so long and having wide-eyed college kids revere their words as Gospel, that when they are finally exposed as intellectual frauds and their precious socialist ideology questioned and debated, they scream "censorship"!
It's about time...

The closest thing to Orwell's 1984 is the college campus liberal's achievement of labeling all speech which disagrees with THEIR position as hate speech, and thus worthy of being silenced and criminalized. What do they think happens to people who speak their mind in opposition???? They really are blacklisted!
For once I can say I was not born too soon! The 60's were bad on campus, but I wouldn't be able to take it today.

No one is attacking their freedom to gurgitate their marxist BS, and no one is attacking our freedom to tell these superior, America-hating @$$holes where to f***ing stick it.

Oh, gees, they already miss the practice of the terrorists' death cult. The writting is on the wall: either America bans communism and other death cults from the accademic and political arena or America will be banned.

What they are really upset about is how their anti-American propaganda has been exposed for the dog feces it has always been.

Richard Berthold had told his class Sept. 11: "Anyone who can blow up the Pentagon has my vote." He later apologized. Oh, well. That made it all right, then.

"I have taken to call their acronym, ACTA, as standing for 'Arbitrary Committee for the Talibanization of America, or Academe,' because they are certainly trying to inhibit freedom of speech and freedom of thought," Barash said. Always the cry when this Anti-America garbage starts spewing their bovine feces.

Heard that little piece of garbage from Hamshire College saying that we have no right to prosecute this war......that we are racists for fighting people whose skin is darker than our........
If this is what the colleges are teaching in the way of critical thinking...it's time for a change.

for too long the taxpayer funded academics in this country have operated without responsible supervision from anyone representing the taxpayers.

I love the way these traitorous leeches prop up the false image of witch trials to dampen any criticism of them by alumni and other contributors. The way the campus elitists have acted going back all the way to last November, I really doubt that they have managed to gain any converts. I don't even think beating their students over the head with Arthur Miller's The Crucible would have any effect right now.

"(An) administrator at Central Michigan University tells students to remove patriotic posters an American flag, eagle from their dormitory on the ground that they are 'offensive,' " the report states. "I have taken to call their acronym, ACTA, as standing for 'Arbitrary Committee for the Talibanization of America, or Academe,' because they are certainly trying to inhibit freedom of speech and freedom of thought," Barash said.
It is amazing to me the inability of liberals to see simple logic faults in their arguments. This one is so blinding you think that the writer would have noticed. If it's okay for the professor to express anti-American and anti-war positions, then it is equally defendable for students and other faculty to express pro-American and pro-war positions.
Doh!

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni has done a marvelous job of showing up what has become of our colleges and universities. Their website is www.goacta.org. Please help support them, as I do.

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni has done a marvelous job of showing up what has become of our colleges and universities. Their website is www.goacta.org. Please help support them, as I do. Totally agree! I've been a dues-paying member since ACTA was founded. The article above is a prime example of left-wing Seattle-style "journalism." ACTA believes America university students should receive a solid grounding in American history and values IN ADDITION TO the now almost exclusively Marxist anti-American, politically correct bilge that's been taught since the Sixties when administrators caved in to the rioting mobs.
If there's any "McCarthyism" and denial of academic freedom on American campuses, it's what the Marxist-dominated academic Left dishes out to any professor who stands up for conservatism and American values. They are routinely blacklisted and forced out of their jobs. ACTA thinks alumni who make big donations to their old schools ought to know how their money is being spent. This terrifies the campus Left which prefers to continue its brainwashing out of the glare of public scrutiny.
Please join ACTA and donate as generously as you can.

And just why do they think they are "
obliged" to spew their veiw to a captive audiance of paying customers whose only request was to be taught what is in a book, while using the threat of a bad grade over the heads of paying customers that might voice disagreement?
Their little Marxist kingdom is at an end, when every other organization from the Church to the State Department is held to strict PC language demands of Marxists, the silent majority has a few freaking demands of their own if Marxist want to play that game.

A lot of these so called professors cut their American hate teeth during the V/Nam war. They were young then leading rallies, buring draftcards, burning flags, and having sex with anything who would have sex with them. Now they are still living in days of yore. They were wrong in 1965 and they are wrong now.

"...joined on the governing board by U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, former Colorado Gov. Richard Lamm..."
Gee. Lamm has the questionable "honor" of drafting the first "liberalized" abortion law in the country as a Colorado legislator. And of course we know how unwavering Lieberman is in his moral stands.
