Only because the evidence for it became so overwhelming that the Biblical flat-earth description, penned by ignorant goatherders, had to finally be rejected as absurd.
Just as the earth centered universe had to finally be abandobned.
Just as the 6000 year old "young earth" had to be abandoned, and evidence of an evolutionary development of all creatures including humans had to be accepted.
The idea that homosexuality matters to anyone in any biological or moral sense is just the rantings of an ignorant past.
Geeze, even the Old Testament had to be rejected by reformists in the religion, it was so awful.
The longer you hold onto these silly Biblical theories, the sillier you all look. Can you imagine the damage you've done to your credibility in the past by holding to the flat earth, the earth centered universe, the 6000 year old earth -- until beyond the point of absurdity in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?

Biology, nature-- that's what makes us animals. What makes us human is our ability to fight biology.
It's called a noun and it, like all nouns in common usage, refer to a commonly understood meaning.
