Hanukkah is probably the quintessential Jewish holiday, not because it is particularly important, but because for thousands of years we've gotten together to celebrate a bargain. Ok, ok, we once got a really good deal on some oil, so what? :-)

Excellent recipes, thanks!
My grandkids are coming for Chanukah, and we will be spending lots of time in the kitchen, making delicious treats!

Thanks for the information. We are celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah this year. Our son-in-law's step-father is Jewish, and will be with us over the weekend. It sure was good to read about it before the actual celebration. I can't wait for the food too!

Happy Hanukkah to you too and Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Ditter. We have been married 48 years today! Imagine that! 48 years with the 'right' person. Fabulous!

BTTT. I'm headed to NY for Christmas with the grandchildren, but I want to explore this thread in minutia (sp?) when I get back. Hope you are healing quickly and feeling a lot better.
Have a happy and holy holiday.
