Mary Frances Berry's decided to play hardball. She's declared war on the White House and signalled her determination to do anything and everything to retain the liberal majority on the commission. The rule of law be damned. Preserving the independence of the commission my butt. She's afraid for her own and fellow Rats power. The odds are high that this case will go first of all to a Clinton appointee on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, who will very probably rule in Berry's favor, however bad the arguments may be for that result. I suspect Berry would not be doing this if she had not gotten assurances from the Dems that they will back her.
