I think it was Rush who commented on a true way to measure the character of a man: how he treats those who cant do anything for him. This story is a clear example of Bushs character; he shows true humility and is the servant of us all, just like his most admired person, Jesus Christ.
Bushs humility makes him the best-qualified person to lead this country, I pray the masses will see and understand this.

Thank you for the posting of this. I watched Bush on James Robinson's "Life Today" (www.lifetoday.org) the year before he was elected. It was then I was convinced he will become the greatest President we have had, at least in my lifetime.
He hasn't disappointed.
Thanks again for the post.

I kept waiting and wondering, looking for the beginning of the missing barf alert, after all what good can come out of Salon, but the gagging moment never came and I was forced to admit that I had read something good and it came from Salon. Bump

I suppose that the Democrats would complain that he isn't acting presidential enough.

Wonderful story. Thanks for posting it. I think the President does things like for two reasons. First of all, he really likes people and sees the best in them. Second I think he must get very tired of being with politicians and 'yes men' all the time. Doing things like this puts him in contact with real people if even for a few minuts.
This story and the one the other day of him running back to salute the Marine guard show just very lucky we are to have this man as our President.

And to think we were so close to having that pretentious, elitist, know-it-all jerk, Al Bore as President....Phew.
