I found myself dashing back into the dining room to get a menu for him to sign.

You may be alone. You certainly are wrong.

I've been both many times before.

:-)

I am just very skeptical of Salon.

Don't know why I have tears in my eyes. I guess I see God's blessings to our nation in this man.

This is amazing. I didn't know Salon was still around.

We are truly blessed to have this man as our President.

Salon is Salon. The article is the article - and the White House PR department itself, couldn't have written a better one. There are no boobytraps - its terrific.

This experience must have been an incredible high for the kitchen staff. Having worked in a kitchen, it's very rare for guests to come back and thank you for a job well done. When a guest did thank us, it renewed us and our effort. But to have a President take the time to return to the kitchen and thank the help... well, it really says something of the man, not the position.

Maybe he's teaching us what we should do for those that serve us, the waitress, the flight attendent, the doorman, the taxi driver, the bank teller, the soldier... take the time and thank them...

Just some thoughts from a former cook.

"Georgia Sweet Potato Tartlet"

I'm from Georgia, and this sounds more like a Yahoo nickname than real food.

Great story about the President, from a weird source! GW is the President at this time for a reason, no doubt. And yes, thank God and all the people that rallied in the streets for GW and the courts that denied the democratic party the theft of the election! I wonder where we would be today with "President Gore" at the helm??

Have you ever seen a story like this about X42, Hill, Gore, Dasshole, Kennedy, Lieberman, Kerry, Boxer, Fine swine?

Should I go on?

We are so lucky as a nation that God has given us a President like George W. Bush at a time like this. He is one of the greats.

Appreciate the bump ALTHOUGH - making me get teary eyed at work is NOT a good idea! LOL

I voted for Bush even though I like Alan Keyes in the primary and while I certainly don't agree with quite a few of the President's policies and idea, he certainly beats the heck out of the alternative (Al - gag, gag, retch, retch, Gore)!!! At least Bush seems to be a REAL person and not some phony.

What a great article!

I put a bust of Churchill in the Oval Office, not because of that quote -- because I didn't know it -- but because I admire the man so much, what he did."

And a photo from the other day to show that statue:

Great many thanks for the flag, ohioWfan.

An unflinching confidence and the requisite swagger, a swell in a literal sense as he walked in looking ready and robust in a blue suit. The air was immediately supercharged; the prez was in the house.

He is a wonderful man. God bless him!
