You know you are in Arizona when your outdoor thermometer ruptures and bleeds red alcohol all over your brown adobe house.
You know you are in Arizona when you see a highway sign that says Next Gas Station 500 Mile Ahead.
You know you are in Arizona when you see a highway sign that says, ALTO GRINGO.
You know you are in Arizona when all highways heading north are closed in the winter.
You know you are in Arizona when you read a newspaper headline that reads, KILLER BEES STRIKE AGAIN.
You know you live in Northern Arizona when your wife says, CHE-CHIL-BE-TAH-BESH-LEGAI, CHE-CHIL-BE-TAH-OLA to you every morning.
You know you live in Southern Arizona when your wife says, Despierte y tome por favor hacia fuera la basura, to you every morning.

My wife and I would drive up to Milwaukee just to get away from the big city of Chicago for a day -- we enjoyed biking out at the lakefront downtown. Madison is a pretty neat place, too. I'd been to the capitol and Lake Mendota out at UW Madison. And we always stopped at Taste of Wisconsin over in Kenosha.
Not all Chicagoans go to the Dells or Door county ... ;-)
And you know that it's pronounced "Cud-a-hay".
I'll never forget, we were watching the channel 4 news one night shortly after their latest bimbette, Contessa Brewer (at least she's got a Milwaukee last name), started working here. She pronounced it "cuh-HAY-dee."
Da missus an me, we almost split a gut.
I remember Barbara appearing on some show -- O'Reilly, Hannity, or Fox & Friends -- via sattelite from Green Bay (I think) while she was staying in Door County. She raved about Door County when the DC or NYC host asked her what she was doing there! I think the show aired in August. Who knew??? --As she wipes a tear from her cheek and murmurs a prayer for Barbara
DID I HEAR SOMEONE SAY CHEESE? I LIKE CHEESE!
