I thought depleted uranium was no longer radioactive. Any FReepers out there have information on this type of munitions?

There is no such thing as an "incubation period" for radioactives. This stinks.

The problems associated with depleted uranium are not from its radioactivity, they are from its being a toxic heavy metal like lead or cadmium.
Human bodies have a hard time filtering out these toxic heavy metals. Health problems exist in other places where DU has been used, such as Kosovo. It is also thought DU may associated with Gulf War Syndrome.

I don't believe the bible gives the location of the Garden of Eden.

a photograph of what I can only describe (inadequately) as a pair of buttocks with a face and two amphibian arms. Sounds like a perfectly healthy Iraqi to me.
To: chookter
"Sounds like a perfectly healthy Iraqi to me."That was an intelligent and constructive response.

Yes it does: Genisis 2:8-14.

At least my response included as much intelligence and science as this piece-of-crap article by an Iraqi apologist.

War is Hell. All Saddam needed to do was withdraw his forces from Kuwait; yet all this still somehow the fault of the USA.

a pair of buttocks with a face and two amphibian arms.Isnt that Arafat??
Sorry, this article generates zero sympathy.
To: chookter
'a photograph of what I can only describe (inadequately) as a pair of buttocks with a face and two amphibian arms.' You said: 'Sounds like a perfectly healthy Iraqi to me.'
This post reflects the perfect example, IMHO, of the term 'ugly american'. Let me add: depraved and inhuman.

Southern Mesopotamia, where the Tigris and the Euphrates flowed, first separately, then united, towards the Persian Gulf, was more beguiling in history than in fact. Here were Babylon and Nineveh, here Sennacherib had fought his battles, here indeed, some said, had been the Garden of Eden at the start of the world. But it was a fearful country now. .... In the summer it was indescribably hot, in the winter unbearably cold. In the dry season everything was baked like leather, in the wet season 10,000 square miles were flooded, the waters gradually oozing away to leave malodorous wastes of marsh. Fleas, sand-flies and mosquitoes tormented the place, and its inhabitants lived lives of ignorant poverty, enlivened only by sporadic excitements of crime or brigandage, the illusions of religion and the consolations of sex.Is this the land of dear old Adam (one British soldier wondered),
And beautiful Mother Eve?
If so dear reader small blame to them
For sinning and having to leave.
