Very sad when one considers that the things which were building a wall between this man and his community would have been considered common attitudes 60 years ago.

Thousands of sad stories setting in our veteran's homes and hospitals. The price of freedom has been very costly. Everybody should take a visit to these homes and get a better understanding of what real sacrifices have been made.

This is sad. It is because of the bravery of Robert T. Boody and others like him that we are now able to kick the Taliban's @ss.
Is everyone here familiar with Send Christmas Cards to a Viet Nam Vet ?

Wow! What a great site! I will certainly be answering the calls on that site. Thank you for including the thread on Richard Workman!

Any competent lawyer could get the reckless endangerment charges dismissed. This man has done nothing wrong. Firing a shotgun into the air is a harmless misdemeanor. What a way to treat a veteran. Anybody want to bet that the "children" who "damaged the spotlight" illuminating his flag were teenaged or twenty something gangbangers?
This story stinks.

Unfortunately, this is New York City, so the gun laws are pretty strict. I hope they don't lock this veteran up for this.

Oops...yep, I didn't notice that it was Staten Island. The street and district names didn't ping my realization that he's in one of the boroughs. Thanks for setting me straight. He could very well be doomed to disarmament.

"He had some strong beliefs about religion and politics and felt it was his duty to influence people," Navarra said. Distressing story. Of course we know he shouldn't be allowed to speak his mind or have an opinion on anything. This is America. The Country he served with honor. The Country that is abandoning him.

"Boody was arrested Wednesday night and charged with... unlawful rifle possession, a violation of the city administrative code, said Ms. Brown." Amendment II:
"...the right of the people to keep an bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Isn't there a contradiction here?

I sure hope that he was not smoking a cigarette at the same time he fired that shot gun. If so, nothing can be done for him.
