Town planning director Karen White said yesterday that Kamen’s company, ACROS, is expected to receive a certificate of occupancy for the new manufacturing plant, at 14 Technology Drive. “They’re not telling us anything about what’s going to be manufactured there. And they don’t have to.

Is this statement correct?

Not only does it have no brakes, but also no engine, no throttle, no gearshift, and no steering wheel. And it can carry the average rider for a full day, nonstop, on only five cents' worth of electricity. -- from current Drudge story

If you can really ride this thing all day for five cents, it is truely an technological breakthrough! My guess is this is a historic event.

So what would happen if she accidentally spilled it to, say, a certain reporter for the state’s largest daily newspapers? “If I told you, I’d have to shoot you,” she said, sounding serious.

Just how good a shot is she?

“Quite good, as a matter of fact,” she replied.

Whoa...Mrs. Kamen is a pistol packin' mama! Maybe she's lurking.

>>...This thing looks like a razor scooter for adults. I can see no advantage in giving up the comfort, and security, of my car for something that appears to be an oversized toy....<<

His wheelchair invention uses gyros for stabilization. Wonder if this "scooter" will too.

Hmmm...a scooter that won't tip over....!!!

Most of the people's positions in that drawing look distinctly uncomfortable for any amount of time spent traveling. And I wonder... what would it be like to be on one of those in a good windstorm?
