The United States of America is at war in Afghanistan.

The United States of America may soon be at war in Iraq, and/or Sudan, and/or Somalia, and/or Yemen, and/or...

Islamic extremists have already killed thousands of Americans - very recently - INSIDE THE BORDERS OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES!

There are an estimated 8 to 11 million illegal immigrants currently in the United States. Our active duty military numbers just over 1 million, and many of them are occupied with operations taking place half way around the world.

Nobody seems to have an exact figure for the percentage of illegal immigrants that are terrorists, Islamic or otherwise. Nobody seems to have an exact figure for the number that brought weapons with them. [If tons of drugs can be successfully smuggled into the country each year, how many tons of arms have our enemies successfully smuggled?] Nobody seems to have an exact figure for the percentage that are currently plotting to kill another thousand or million Americans.

Now we have the Vulnerability Promotion Center extremists trying to disarm "free" Americans, on the basis that .50 cal rifles could have been used to injure or kill a few innocents during the entire span of American history.

This propaganda piece failed to mention one person that was killed - or even injured - by a .50 cal round.

These people are beyond stupid. They are consciously distorting the truth, in an effort to further their political agenda. A political agenda which, if successful, would only serve to weaken the United States during a time of war.

To: technochick99 "Armed with an L.A.R. Grizzly 50 caliber sniper rifle" I am sorry but there is no such weapon as listed above. The LAR Grizzley is a semi auto pistol in 50 AE caliber. The gun weighs 48 ounces. This weapon shoots a 325 grain bullet at 1400 feet per second. Fifty caliber RIFLES in general weigh 25 POUNDS or more and shoot a 650 to 800 grain bullett 2600 feet per second.

Hate to argue, but there is, in fact, a .50 rifle built by L.A.R. called "the Grizzly".

To all; Have you all ever heard of a death associated with .50BMG on American soil? Ever??

The .50 BMG may be the safest firearm ever conceived!!!!

True, but not the best comparison.... more people will die next year from self-asphyxiantion during self-gratification, from panda attacks, from two lightning strikes in one day, from papercuts, or from getting hit in the head with a bowling ball at a family reunion than from a .50 BMG round.

Laz, contact my son to get for yourself a silenced weapon. Buy the fed stamp for $200 and own a silenced toy. Great for shooting without ear protection! There are 9mm, .22, and .45 available at actually reasonable prices, in both rifle and pistol model. Great fun!

Sorry no it is the current state of the art for heavy snipers and recon. The Marines in force recon here in Northern Nevada have them and I have talked to Army Rangers who use them. They are a force multiplier - a small outgunned unit can take down APC's and such with out calling in an air strike etc. and IT'S LOTS OF FUN!!!
