To dredge up an old arguement. More Americans will drown in their back yard swimming pools next year than will be killed by a .50 BMG bullet. If the gun grabbers were interested in saving lives they would be working day and night to enact a ban on pools. Heck, I'd say that more Americans will drown in their
shower than will be killed by a .50 caliber gun. This is about he most rediculous article I've read in a while.
As always, the press runs in lock step with the extreme liberals. I smell a RAT.

Not even. A cut out picture, maybe...
I don't have the link, but Christenson Arms has a website and they make a nifty carbon barreled .50.

There is also a back pack for cross country transport That's just wrong. Pack a .50? Without coolies? Ouch! Umm... I'd rather have my 10-22.

Note they have ZERO fatalities related to criminal use of .50 rifles.

You'd need at least a wheelbarrow to haul any meaningful amount of ammo around for this thing too...

That's an awesome gun, but I can't help but wonder about the price. I understand that there isn't a mass market for them, but that seems far above what I would expect parts and labor to run.

What in the blue hell is with VPC lately. How many press reports have they issued, and why all of them so close together.
VPC has contacts in Kongress as well. I smell a rat here. McInsane wants his gun bill in next week, and barring a fillibuster, it WILL pass the senate(House is unknown).
What else will be added? That's the question. Are they going to go beyond gun shows?
Time to keep a close eye on the govt.
BTW - If Dubya signs this, he WILL NOT win election.

My x-mas present to me is scheduled to be a Barrett 82. I decided to get one after all the hubbub about banning them and their transfer.

I need one as well.
I've been trying to get MCRGO to raffle one off - $50 a ticket. $2500-$3000 value, 500 tickets - $25000 to MCRGO. This could catch on nationwide.
We are raffling off a top quality rifle after the new year. I have a good idea what it is, but I do not have the authority to say what it is yet. I will post the raffle on FR though.

Oops, three criminal uses in nine years, if I read it right this time. One criminal use every thousand days or so. Good grief!

I had seen a "special report" on CNN about a year or two ago....saying how the secret service is terrified of these weapons, and their inability to defend against the armor piercing ability of the .50 caliber rifle. At the time, the secret service was all for legislation to ban them.

"Something" is up ... with the VPC that is. Aren't they the group that changed their from the Brady (anti) Hand-Gun Group as a political choice to widen their efforts as stealing/outlawing legitimate weapons ownership for personnel protection?
Aa a self-avowed "anti-violence" center, it certainly seems they have widened their attack against more than "handguns"..... and of course, the media will print their press releases verbatim.
What are they planning (long term)?

So over the period of like 10 years they can drum up a handfull of cases where 50 calibur rifles were used in the commision of crimes. My god. Once every 3 years is too much! They must be banned now at all costs! For the children!

It's a bit much for anti-personnel stuff, but for long range shots, it can make for a good weapon. It really shines at busting up lightly armored vehicles and small stuff like satellite dishes, from long range. It's fine for sniping against enemy soldiers, but a lighter rifle is usually just as good (unless you're taking a really long range shot).

Liberals are like Hyenas, when they smell fear they circle for the kill. They are just trying to capitalize on the fear of Sept 11. for quick political gain.
They must keep a stash of gun controll bills on file at all times to make sure they are never caught unprepared when a favourable situation like a new school shooting arises.
