Rhetoric aside, we are not at war.

I hope that this thought will comfort you when the enemy kills your family in this 'not war'.

have you ever read "The Ominous Parallels" by Peikoff?

Yes.

It was suggested to me by a poster here, a few years ago.

I'll probably regret this but... I have to ask:

How is flushing the toilet a violation of law?

If the war on al queida contains elements of a campaign on our Freedom, then it is in fact a war on us also.

I like this frank admission that in this war you are an enemy of the people of the United States.

thanks for taking the time to put this together. i am not sure if it will solve your problem, but as a recent newcomer -- i think you labeled me a newbie -- i find this interesting. i will give you my impression for what it is worth. the only value i can probably bring is that i am not saddled with years of baggage.

we are at war. i find it exhilarating that we are behind our government. some things are said that in 10 years when we are more mature, we will have wished we had not said in the heat of battle, but one cannot cannot change human nature and emotions.

i am guessing that you would like more academic discussions. i prefer that too, but being at war we need to talk about realities and not how we get to the future utopia. people's minds are not in acadamia right now, they are in 'get the evil doers' mode. neither of us can stop that.

yeah, people are calling others the taliban and so forth when there is disagreement. i find it humorous, more humorous when you are called that than i, of course!

so people have problems with english. be greatful that we are either appealing to people with lesser education, or with those who have english as a second language. the more people who visit this site, contribute to this site and try to understand freedom the better we are.

the world is not stable. everything is dynamic. i find this fun, and i find it even more fun to discuss freedom and policies in a changing world, trying to figure out who to apply our laws, constitution and values in such an environment. the discussion has been fun. change is inevitable.

finally, i have seen a dichotomy between republicans and libertarians. i won't go into it very much, but there is so much in common between the groups. but it is more fun to highlight the differences and prove who is right. that again is human nature. it is more evident now that we do not have the old administration in place. i suspect that we used to bash them extremely hard and since they are gone have focused our energies a bit at ourselves.

be patient. add your comments. have fun. the pendulum always swings back.

If this is war, then why does your beloved president not seek a declaration of same from this bumbling congress?

Certainly you would support him in fulfilling this constitutional duty... No?

Or perhaps that would be too much like criticism for you?

Nah.... best just to ignore that pesky 'ole constitution, and engage in military hostility without bothering to declare war.

How is flushing the toilet a violation of law?

Depends on the age of your toilet.

If it cuts loose with more than 3 gallons... it is verboten.

It is not my obligation to support the president,

Perhaps not, but as a member of the militia you have an obligation to support the Commander in Chief.

Ah, one of those: if I'm breathing, I'm breaking a law. I obey traffic laws. I like living. Hell, I don't even park in fire lanes at Target.

You seem to be willfully ignoring those posts which correct your confusion regarding the fact that the United States has not declared war on anyone.

He wasn't calling America Nazi, he was calling you a Nazi. You proved him right.

To be called a Nazi by a traitor is a badge of honor.

I obey traffic laws.

I have yet to meet a human being who can possibly obey all traffic laws.... even for a few days.

You'll pardon my skepticism.

or it implies a desire to accomplish the assassination of the President of the United States.

Well, that's a hell of a leap of illogic. What I stated was no more or less than a distillation of the thought processes employed by those who formulated, debated, wrote the Constitution of the U.S., and voted in the affirmative to adopt into the aforementioned the absolute and unequivocal right for the citizenry to be able to defend any usurpation of its rights by its servant, the gummint.

Rather interesting that you would find it 'threatening'.

As soon as the Congress passes a declaration of war, your point will make sense. Until then, you have given the game away to One Who Knows...

If you'll pardon me for disagreeing with you. I can honestly say I didn't break any laws on the road today....in fact, I drove below the speed limit!

"If it cuts loose with more than 3 gallons... it is verboten."

Ahhh. Thanks.

I have the new, double-pumpers, in my house... so I guess I'm legal there anyway.

" I see.... so principles shouldn't really be principles at all. They should just be some kind of loose guidelines, to be abandoned for whatever pragmatic "competing values" come down the pike. "

Not every principle is absolute. The principle against loaning a relative money may have to yield to the principle of helping a family member in distress.

A slave to a principle is still a slave.

But to be a Nazi makes you the traitor in all but the legal sense.
