Looks like male bashing has become a cottage industry. Whew, I need to come up for Oxygen /sarcasm

I generally don't watch the channel, but agree with the assessment. What I really can't stand is women watching Oprah and Rosie. As soon as someone I'm talking to says they saw this or that on Oprah or Rosie, I kind of recoil and say "oh, you watch that stuff?". The other day at work we were discussing books and I told a co-worker that if a book goes on Oprah's list, it is off mine and he couldn't believe it! Then at a friend's house I saw a copy of 'O' (Oprah) magazine decoratively laid out in her bathroom. I was horrified! It was worse than if I'd found genital wart cream in her medicine cabinet! (not that I would look!)

I kind of recoil and say "oh, you watch that stuff?"...and they look at you dumbly, and say, "Why, don't you?".........

I prefer the term "Femtrag" (FEM-tradge). Short for female tragedy. I think I got it from Ed Bark of Dallas Morning News. I'm not sure though, I've slept since then.

I get sick of all the lisping on HGTV. LOL!!!

Didn't see it....were they allowed to have guns?LOL! Yes actually. As usual, they took only the facts that they deemed PC to attack GW's character.
For example, while it is true that on the rare occasions he used profanity with such vigor that his troops could not but help admire him, it is that rarity of use that makes it notable. However, in "The Crossing" his every utterance is full of vulgar, scatalogical language. Laughable, except that so many now believe the lie.
Even more pathetic, was the ending. Not content with hitting us over the head with the fact that the Battle of Trenton was a surprise CHRISTMAS DAY attack, a note at the end of the movie practically apologizes to the Hessians for their defeat since...after all, they were 'sold' by their Lords into the service. Well yes, that would be THE KING's SERVICE!!!!! Maybe just another justification for the 9/11 attacks.
PS Sorry for shouting. :-)

Oxygen is OprahTV. Now you wish you hadn't asked, right?

Wow... look at all I miss by not having cable... or rabbit ears... I get ABC, FOX (if I jiggle the set), and KCET. But only if I bother to turn the set on, and months at a time go by. I think it's going to die of neglect soon.

I have to admit that I do watch re-runs of Unsolved Mysteries at 11 am. Sometimes I watch Designing Women, too. I feel that the evil of the FOB's who produced the show is balanced out by the good of fine conservative co-stars Dixie Carter and Delta Burke (who is married to Major Dad Gerald McRaine). I have been torn lately since they have started running Cheers reruns on Nick at Night, now.
I really need to get a hobby.

the husband being abused and the wife the abuser
How does that help our case.If they ain't making us look like brutes, they make us to be wimps-no in betweens.

Something like that......although I was sure it fell into that "Lifetime" category.

They do have some swishy charactors on there, don't they?

In my house, Lifetime is the "Evil Man Channel" : All the movies it shows are about evil men victimizing women. If it shows a movie about an evil woman-like, say, one who tries to fill an entire graveyard via ant poison laden food-then it'll turn out she's not evil, she's crazy , because (eg) her father (
a man...) molested her when she was a child. So it's all a man's fault!
At least Lifetime shows Unsolved Mysteries reruns. I love that show.

I just loooooooooooove the shows Lifetime does in which the real life Gloria Allred is a character and the "heroic female lawyer" you describe.(/sarcasm.) And there's at least three Lifetime films that use her , based on real court cases!
Lifetime gets so over the edge they've wasted money on films which are now unshowable. Remember a few years back, when lots of upper middle class girls would go to a therapist, complain that their work or love lives weren't working out, and the therapists would tell them that proved their dads had molested them? And that they were supposed to obsess over this idea until their mind started producing images or dreams about their dad molesting them, the images and dreams then being produced as evidence in court that they were in fact incest victims? And how 40+ states changed their laws to reflect the concept of "Repressed Memories" (which does exist, but not in anything like the form Roseanne, "the courage to heal" lesbian lovers, and other popularizers promulgated). Before too many years passed, False Memory Sydrome as a reality could no longer be denied, and the horrendously exaggerated form of Repressed Memory Sydrome was debunked and discarded ...But not before Lifetime did several films in which heroic lady psychologists diagnosed their clients as molest victims, based on their clothing, voice, etc, after one hour session. Always the client would tearfully admit (sooner or later) that she had indeed been victimized, and "How could you tell? (Quavery voice .) None of those films has been shown on Lifetime for 3-5 years now, because the (wildly exaggerated) concept of RMS has been so thoroughly debunked , primarily by the clinical psychiatrists who actually studied memories and the way the mind works. Though not in time to save some people, almost certainly innocent, from losing their retirement funds, their homes, or their freedom to their vengeful daughters (or do they simply get tired of waiting to inherit?) and their incompetent "therapists".

I am amazed at the amount of responses this article has generated. And I just thought I was being within a micrometer click away from unreasonable. Hope the leftovers taste as good as yesterday's main course.
Stay well, be well, StarfireIV
