I notice that you don't have any Big Ten teams in that selection. A telling omission, don't you think? I will grant you that Tennessee is probably one of the better teams...below the Mason-Dixon line.
We're loyal to you Illinois,
We're "Orange and Blue," Illinois,
We'll back you so stand
'Gainst the best in the land,
For we know you have sand, Illinois,
Rah! Rah!
So crack out that ball Illinois,
We're backing you all Illinois;
Our team is our fame protector,
On! boys, for we expect a vict'ry from you Illinois!
Don't make me start in on the "Che-he! Che-ha! Che-ha-ha-ha!" 'cause I will if pushed far enough. I might even let out an "oskee wow wow" or two.

Tennessee has won 140 more games than Florida and other such late comers.
Tennessee also beat Florida 10 out 10 back when the players were really bona fide students.

Speaking of fight songs I've heard that Oklahoma is thinking of changing theirs because the students have problems remembering all the words.

Was Sunday night sweet or what?Yes, especially against the Vikes who thought they were going to the Super Bowl this year. Too bad Dwayne Rudd wasn't there with them still.

Guys, I envy you. I grew up in on the North Shore and lived in the northwest suburbs prior to moving to Kansas City. I remember the glory days of the 80's and you all are headed back to the playoffs a lot sooner than my Chiefs are. You were there in the best of times. The Ditka teams (especially '85) were the funnest team to watch for a few years.

If we had a quarterback who could play the entire yr. in the mid 80s we would have won three straight Super Bowls. Now I think we are a stellar defensive end away. Though I definitely believe we can beat any team though the Packers still worry me.McMahon was fun to watch in '85 but he teed me off the next couple years always causing strife and letting himself get fat and unable to take a hit, and like you said, screwing the Bears chances to win three straight.

I think Illinois and Tennessee may be matched up in a bowl. Could be interesting. Granted that Tennessee has more depth but Illinois has good defense and an excellent quarterback good recievers. Lets rumble.

Yeah, McMahon's antics with regard to Flutie were not productive but I can't help but love the guy.

It was beautiful to wake up on Tuesday morning and realize that da Bears would have home games through the conference championship if the playoffs started next week.
However, I think the Rams have the inside track for best record since their remaining schedule is the easier between them and da Bears. Unless Atlanta can whack em once.

How true. Dan Hampton...Mike Singletary...Sweetness...Gary Fencik...Doug Plank, although he retired before the Super Bowl year. Heck I remember Doug Buffone, Bobby Douglas and even Dick Butkus. Hampton still had one of the all-time great football lines, "Real men don't walk away from football. They limp away."

I liked that hard hitting defense, Fencik liked to throw'er in there.

"The South Was Right!," written by Sons of Confederate Veterans members and brothers James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy of Louisiana, states the Confederacy had the right to be a free nation and most of what is taught in this country is false and misleading."
Oppressive people and groups continue to fuel the fire by trying to prevent the truth from ever surfacing. What a novel tactic...
