How many more foolish statements are you going to make?
Instead, we have vegans vs. anti-abortionists!
Only on Free Republic. ;^)
Of course, but try telling the Catholic Church that
Pure evil!
Yes, dear, ranched fur would be almost worthless, IF farmed anmals ( which include more than just mink ) were ill treated , PRIOR, to their demise. You see, animals who are starved or abused become mentally deranged. They are known to bite themselves, become frenzied, and their fur suffers. Just as people, under a great deal of mental stress can lose their hair , have their nails become ridged, etc., so can animals farmed and in zoos.
My daughter, who majored in Psycho-biology, and has been the LEAD on many studies , has talked at great length about this. So, besides knowing about this from watching a lot of programs, I also have it from an accredited, first hand source . Zoos and ranches have been and are still doing extensive studies in how to improve the mental life of various animals. They have come a long way, from where they were centuries ago ; even 50 years ago.
Other than just reading about your pet hobbey-horse just what credentials do you have ? I am NOT being " mean " ; I would really like to know what makes you an expert.
It's not a insult when it is a statement of fact.
ROFLMAO!
The teenagers, who were not identified, were booked on felony counts of exploding a destructive device and cruelty to animals.
As we are methodically addressing the problem of cowards who murder civilians, so ought we address the problem of the budding Bundys and Dahmers.
If I witnessed this outrage on any of my cats, there would be no need to waste taxpayer money on public defenders to find these two had a ritalin excuse etcetera.
I got your outrage right here, boys.
But that would be wrong--
And a mess to clean up. . . .
Spoken like a city girl who doesn't know the difference between her you-know-what and a hole in the ground, even if you did spot her both hands and a flashlight!
If that were true, then there might be hope for you.
But it isn't.
If that were true, then there might be hope for you.
But it isn't.
LOL you all play nice now... hear?
Ok, have any animal other than a human post a message on Free Republic. Liberals don't count.
...ever try to catch a feral cat in a cage twice?
I didn't try to but I managed to do it several times.
3 kittens showed up on our deck several years ago. They were obviously starting to go a little feral and were looking neglected and hungry. We borrowed a cage trap from a friend who specialized in catching are re-socializing feral cats and proceeded to start bringing them in.
We got two easily but one, a grey tabby, was being particularly evasive. A few hours later, I glanced out at the cage and spotted grey tabby stripes, thinking we'd gotten the third, I went out to bring in the cage. I hadn't gotten two steps out of the door when I heard the most ferocious growl. I stopped short and realized that I hadn't caught a kitten, but a fifteen pound feral male. He was not happy to see me. I went back in to get some heavy gloves and an overcoat before popping the cage open. Fortunately, he was intent on nothing more than putting distance between the two of us. I reset the trap, moved it closer to the edge of the deck and went back inside for the night.
When I got up the next morning, we discovered another feral cat, a black and white longhair. Upon seeing us, it (wasn't able to determine the sex) began to panic and began to desperately look for a way out of the cage by circling madly. It was obvious that the cat was hurting itself so I risked popping open the cage without any protective gear. The way that cat bounded out of the cage and our yard got us laughing pretty good. It'd leap about 8-9 feet horizontally, hit the ground and do it again.
We reset the trap only to catch the male tabby again.
The next night we caught the longhair again. We gave up on getting the third. One of the captured kittens turned out to be a Maine Coon, all black. My sister-in-law has him now while we kept the little short hair (that's about as descriptive as I can get with that one). I hope that little tabby managed to find a safe home somewhere.
