Um, does this mean if a prosecutor dies, the "target" is innocent and/or free to go?

I loathe Daschle. But I have to say I am tired of watching money being spent on these insidious investigations. If we had a decent press or a trustworthy justice department, we wouldn't be wracking up millions on "independent" investigators.

I guess only if you are an elected Democrat serving in Congress.

"It's time to move on," Daschle said Thursday, shortly after White's announcement. "It's time to bring it to a close, and perhaps this might serve as a catalyst to do just that." HEY DASH-HOLE!These are legal inquiries, not political ones. Perhaps you should keep your FREAKING LIBERAL NOSE out of the legal system.

Apparently. I hope this is one thing that doesn't slide under the radar while we're all obsessed.

Yah, what's with these people? Its like women's logic. You lose either way. :)

Does anyone know *why* White is resigning?
To: JeanS
But it's likely that it will be months before a replacement for White is selected, vetted, sent to the Senate and confirmed, particularly with Congress headed for adjournment at some point next month. Interesting timing. How much did the DNC pay White to step down?
To: Howlin
It is possible that she will indict before she leaves. Not likely, but possible. On the other hand, I still think that appointing Rudy Guiliani to replace her would absolutely shut them all up. If Clinton tries to block his nomination, the uproar in NYC will be phenomenal. Since he already held the position before, quite successfully, there would be no excuse to keep him from the position.
I like my idea.

I'm constantly disappointed that there are not FReepers out there with dirt on Dashol*.
No body has that sweet a voice and that sweet a public disposition without hiding something.
Where are the Dakota or Washington FReepers with the latest rumor about this twerp?
