I doubt that Malak has anything to do with the anthrax, since that's not his speciality and he's more likely to be a victim than perpetrator in view of his past history :)
Now Toon, OTOH, brings up possiblities in moments of idle speculation. I'd lean more toward speculation of involvement by or on behalf of Mrs. Toon, since she's the likely candidate in 2004. I have no idea of the the relationship between Daschle and Mrs. Toon or Daschle and Terry McAfee (sp?). But I would think that Daschle might be potential competition in the 2004 primary. Who Leahy would back, I haven't a clue. But then that idle speculation doesn't even take into account the others in congress who might have been targeted.
I don't think we can dismiss him too quickly.
It's a LOT of coincidence that Fahmy disappeared off the Radar Screen after three very likely Inhalation Anthrax cases from Ark./Eastern Ok. with the availability of Anthrax at Pine Bluff Weapons storage. He's certainly very familiar with anthrax as a Clinical Pathologist. He's painted in most minds as a fruitcake type MD, but he's actually a major tool.
Now he turns up in Florida and Anthrax starts nailing folks there first. Notice his brief resume' at the Physician site doesn't mention his credentials from Ark. It's all too much to just discount his possible hand in it.
The Motives for utilizing that type of capability are obvious now.
Perhaps he can be "co=president" this time.
GWB's popularity can be erased in a few weeks by media spin. Bush the elder was very popular shortly before Clinton was "anointed" by the press to be the next president.
Chairman Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) has continued a 'blue-slip' policy that requires both home-state Senators to sign off on nominees to the federal bench, U.S. Attorneys offices and the U.S. Marshals Service.
(Snip)
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle has urged that White drop the Clinton probes entirely -- along with another investigation into bribery allegations against Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-N.J.).
A warning?
You mean, as in Daschle gets to run as top dog in 04 for protecting the Toons? (And gets anthrax if he doesn't?) Or were you thinking of something else?
