A presidential friend and supporter now finds himself at odds with both the Muslim world and the message from the White House

Yet, he is on the side of truth! Sometimes the truth is not "popular." This is one of those times.

The time will come when America will see the light about Islam, and how truly wicked and oppressive it is.

And when that time comes, people like Franklin Graham and myself (along with many others here on FR) will say: we told you so!

Peace according to Islam, is you the non-muslim, submitting to THEIR way of life whether you like it or not.

The truth is a bitter pill. Specially where Islam is concerned.

It is high time our government speak the truth, also.

You got to be kidding me, our govt will always lie, unless we all go and vote for people with principals.

You are another racist.

"Muslim" is not a race.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Well, when I read the "verbal" fight between people here, I want to ask them this question: how many Jews who read the Talmud kill people all over the world who are non-Jews?

Just look at the world. Terrorists these days have one thing in common: islam! Just look here: http://web.nps.navy.mil/~library/tgp/tgpndx.htm for a list of terrorist organisations. Most of them have the word islam(ic) or jihad in them. And how many Jewsih groups you find here? Is it because islam is all about peace and tolerance? Wake up! After what 19 muslims have done on 9/11 we must look at islam an see what they teach about their desire to make the whole world either muslim or death!

I can quote some things from the quran or hadtih here but look for yourselves:

http://www.answering-islam.org/
http://www.islamreview.com/index.html
http://www.hindutva.org/AnwarShaikh/ArabImperialism/
http://atheism.miningco.com/cs/islam/

Are they wrong and the muslims telling the truth? Of course there are moderate muslims, they just settle for aiding the islamic efforts with money. When the US wanted to root out terrorism in the world, what kind of countries tried to stop the US? And who were celebrating the attacks on 9/11?

If people really are convinced by the peaceful nature of islam, they should just see for themselves how nice it is to live as a western in countries like Sudan (where christian Sudans are sold as slaves to Arabs), Indonesia (where Abu Sayyaf kidnaps and kills westerns at random), Iran (guess what), Iraq, Syria (supporting Hizballah, Lebanon (Hamas), Libia (Ghadaffi who openly supported terrorism until Reagan "convinced" him to stop), Nigeria (random killing of christians), Egypt (where christians are second class citizens), Saudi-Arabia (where recently English were convicted for drinking alcohol, but were deported instead of executed after protests from England) and so on.

Yes there are muslims that don't agree with these fundamentalists. Many of them condemn the 9/11 attacks, but they "understand" the motives of the terrorists, and that's just as dangerous!

Islam != Muslims

There seems to be a misconception in this thread that criticism of Islam, the religion, is the same as criticism (or hatred) of Muslims, the people.

It ain't necesarily so. Just as we did not hate the Russian people, despite our criticism and dislike of communism, we can despise Islam as a religious and philisophical system without necessarily hating the people who practice Islam out of family tradition, cultural momentum, ignorance or whatever.

But we should never be cowed from making just commentary about a creed which inherently preaches violence, as Islam does, at least in the real world (as opposed to the fairy dream world where Islam is peace), by accusations that we hate the people who practice it.

"Of course, there's a lot of racist stuff in the OT too. That's one of the (many) problems of organized religion: the bad attitudes of former times tend to get frozen into dogmas and pollute the minds of generations to come.   "
I don't guess it would do any good to tell you that much of what is perceived in the Bible as "racist" is not.  I'll have to agree with you, however, that minds have been polluted in generations that followed due to ignorant and self-serving priest/preacher types.  (Note:  Before the flames begin...I didn't say ALL!!)

"The Talmud is regarded by almost all Jews as superior to the Tanakh. Where the two disagree, the Talmud takes precedence. "

I've always looked on the Talmud much the same way I see Biblical Commentary based on a Christian perspective.  It's just that ... commentary!  I don't believe the Talmud takes precedence over the Tanak.

just because someone's belief in God is different than mine, that that person is evil

Who said that I think that. I would appreciate all the Muslims who don't hate America to please stand up and say it. Instead their silence speaks volumes.

I know that I would stand up and condemn any Christian who said that they wanted to kill all (name any religion).

BTW, this is the "EVIL" Franklin Graham's project...Operation Christmas Child sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and Christian literature. This program provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project that reaches out to suffering children while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas–Jesus Christ, God's greatest gift. In 2000, we collected over 4.1 million shoe boxes worldwide and distributed them to children in more than 75 countries.

Bravo, Franklin. You have spoken the truth--and the truth hurts. Lutherans didn't do it, Buddhists didn't do it, and Jews didn't do it. Just plain old Moslems who also encourage their children to tie dynamite around their waists and walk into a crowded pizza parlor and blow up dozens of innocent children celebrating a birthday.

Bravo, Franklin. You are more than a chip off the old block--you are a brave man.

Bravo, Franklin. You stood up for your beliefs even in the face of losing friends.

Bravo, Franklin. You helped to open the minds of Americans who have been thinking about this subject.

Bravo, Franklin. You are right!!!

I have Muslim friends, one who is so close that we are actually able to discuss philosophy, politics and religion frankly and honestly. In the past few months I have expressed views to my friend somewhat similar to what Grahm has said publicly. I have patiently listened to my friend for years, as he sincerely claimed the tolerance of his faith, the victimization of his faith by Christianity and the west, the moral failings of America. I believe now that I was in the past patronizing to my friend and that was the easy but not the correct way to deal with a friend. Mr. Graham is entitled to his opinion and what he is saying needs to be debated in the world today.

Did you realize that Islam was based on Christianity and that Allah is the same God that you and I believe in?

How does the Kool-aid taste? I do not believe that Allah of Islam and God of Christianity are the same, neither do many others.

My whole point remains that as a Christian I can not take the position that just because someone's belief in God is different than mine, that that person is evil.

My main point is that the core of the Islamic belief system is rotten. If a person is really devout and really adheres to what the "holy" documents of that religion really say, then they are evil. Non-devout Muslims I suppose I might be able to tolerate, but I will watch closely. Read what their scriptures say, and note how many follow them to the letter, historically and today.

Franklin Graham Is an Evangelist who does not owe allegiance to anyone but Jehova God! A man of faith who fears and honors God is not going to be Politically correct in this messed up world. He will be ostracised and put upon for clearly stating the Truth that none of the rest out there can adjust to.

The issue here is Religion vs Evangelism! Organized Religion is represented largely by "Preachers" not Pastors and certainly not Evangelists like Franklin Graham. Organized Religion manipulated by internal factions like the Masonic Lodge for example work together with local members who will only tolerate a "Watered Down Gospel" message that will violently oppose "Hell Fire And Damnation Preaching" denying the power there of.

This good man is not going to engender warm and fuzzy feelings because of the fact that America in large part cannot only handle the truth or in finality deal intelligently with it! Islam Is The Embodiment of Evil against the Infidel Crusaders that is always presented as "Inclusive and Tolerant" truth is this is all Bunk!

The mainline "Preachers" have not committed to this good man for the above reasons. I repeat, they remain silent because their own personal agenda's like building Universities and television networks to "Tickle the Ears" of their benefactors. They prefer to stay on a short tether and live a nice cushy "Lap Dog Existence".

God expects action, and Praise God for Franklin Graham. He gives ulcers to the liberals. He stands apart from the maddening crowd of do gooders and the un-committed we are forced to endure. He is a true Prophet and knows and accepts the loneliness that come with it! Please pray for his courage to stay strong in times and situations like this; we all find out who our "Real" friends are! Go get um Franklin I'll always be shoulder to shoulder with you. God Bless You Sir.

Joining the secular humanists and bashing fundamentalist Christians is not very smart strategically. Rev. Graham better realize that he will be next!

Christians are short-sighted when they jump on the bandwagon of xenophopia and bash Muslims. On issues ranging from parochial education, to abortion (and evolution!) there is much potential common ground between Muslims and Christians. The secular humanists love to see Muslims and Christians bashing each other. It makes their job much more easier. The best stand for fundamentalist Christians is to hold high a concept which everyone else seems to forgotten: freedom of religion.
