i've been avoiding k-pax in spite of jeff. i'll wait for it to come out on cable or rent the video. AAO was a very LA movie, it captured the mood of the city back then with the drugs and clubs. i just saw mulholland dr. which was great (but i'm digressing).

chamberlain is the most asexual man i've ever seen. Let's just say he doesn't impress as even remotely heterosexual. As for me, I'll take the sailing scene in "High Society," the musical remake of "The Phildelphia Story." Der Bingle Crosby and Grace Kelly honeymoon on a sailboat, and he sings "True Love" to her. *sigh*

A&E's Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. Wonderful movie! My favorite scene is when they meet unexpectedly at Pemberlee. I'm sure you know the one. :o)

Terminator. Seriously! The relationship between Sara Connor and the Michael Beihn character (can't remember his name) was soo sweet.:-)

I never saw the original of "An Affair to Remember", but the Warren Beatty, Annette Bening remake of "Love Affair" was great.

One From the Heart by Coppola with Frederick Forrest, Teri Garr, Raul Julia, Nastassia Kinski, Harry Dean Stanton. Fast paced, outrageous scenes, visually interesting, and great dialogue ("Adam & Eve on a raft, wreck'em!" barks Teri Garr to the short order cook).

Sorry about that. "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." A man....his tools.....for his family.

She's Having a Baby
Believe it or not, a "guy's movie" (but the girls will love it too).

I wish she had lived longer. (re Jane Austen)
So do I. Did you know that when she was 12 or 13 she entered a marriage in the official records of the church that her father pastored at the time -- it's still there. She wrote that on such and such a date, Jane Austen was married to: and then she listed, at about age 12, the names of each of her six male protagonists! I can't remember the order in which they appeared, but she wrote it in this manner: "Jane Austen married Edward Henry George Frederick Edmund Fitzwilliam on such and such date." She had inklings so early it is astonishing! The name of the protagonist in her final, unfinished book, Sandition, which she had to set aside because she was terminally ill, does not appear in the age 12-wedding notice. Truly a gift from God, both she and her writings.
