In the Hollywood version, the girls fall in love with their captors, denounce their oppressive Christian principles, and pick up guns and start fighting the terrible Americans.

It sure was great to hear them speak! Praying for the persecuted in Moslem countries. Thank you for the flag.

"The men who came and rescued us did a fabulous job - I don't think Hollywood could have done it better," said Mercer.

Well, they tried with Geraldo. Is he going to open a cave? Sorry, gone HOME to America!

Yes, it was great to finally hear them -- what gracious women they are! It was apparent they'd been through a tremendous ordeal (their sorrow over the treatment of the other prisoners; close quarters; uncertainty over outcome, esp. in last few days), that they had to be careful what they said, and that they were wise and making good decisions in a difficult situation (they didn't trust those who came to retrieve them from cell in Kabul, but rather dressed warmly and took all they could -- I cannot imagine).

I hope their closeness and sensitivity will continue and see them through the challenges and difficulties ahead. May God continue to bless them. May many more people have their eyes opened as a result of hearing them.

I'm still awed at the whole resounding "YES" answer to our prayers. I am thankful to God for His protection, and will keep others in prayers as well. I pray for Elian still; for his families; for our pain... Take care.
