I am a big fan of Dave Matthews Band and have been since 1995. But his politics usually suck and he has been all over Bush at the live shows over the ANWR project. Smart man for not coming out against the war here. I think he would have lost a big part of his fan base if he had started the bashing of the military.
Butch up some Dave...we are at war.

Actually, this is pretty good considering he was raised and presumably (?) still is a Quaker. He at least has the sense to realize that peace is impossible in this situation and even if he believes in peace, getting there may require a little war. Can't wait for the next tour!

YAY! You saw my point. He is the way he is also because of his sister being shot to death by her husband as well in South Africa. I believe it happened right in front of their kid.

Well, I'm probably sympathetic cause I'm a fan, which you seem to be as well. But in any case...it's good to see a Quaker at least see how peace simply cannot work in certain cases.
Yeah, that thing about his sister is so sad. The inside of the Under The Table And Dreaming CD case has a picture of him and it says "In Memory of Anne".

You wouldn't happen to be a fan of the Canadian group Rush, would you?

What is about music today. Every song out there is basically about some guy (or girl) whining. I like Smash Mouth and even some of Green Day. But everybody else seems like one of those medival sopranos typse.

LOL. If you like Green Day, then I would definitely NOT listen to their song Minority.

Apparently Dave is a resident of Seattle, good for him. I like the few pieces of his music I have heard, rare for me in the contemporary atmosphere.
How is your domestic situation? I read the thread you posted some time ago but did not become involved. Hope all is well for you.

Politics aside, to me his music is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Wimpy, whiny, pathetic. Nothing gets me lunging for the tuning knob faster. Can't understand what anyone sees in him. Yet he sells out 2 nights at Soldier Field. Go figure....(?)
