I guess I didn't ask a dumb
No such thing as a dumb question, and whenever someone has the guts to ask a question many others have an opportunity to learn something. I for instance just learned that contrary to my prior thinking Iraqis aren't predominantly Persian, as the Iranians are. Pretty bad for somebody who's travelled a few times in the Middle East.

Me thinks you mistyped in Google. LOL.

I couldn't resist.
This thread was getting way too ponderous.
I thought I might leaven it a bit.

You did, and thanks for that.

""While it looked like a rag-tag procession, the morale into Mazar-e Sharif was a triumphal procession. All locals loudly greeted us and thanked all Americans. Much waving, cheering and clapping even from the women. ... USN/USAF did a great job. " Hmmm. Doesn't quite fit with the tripe that the media has been trying to feed us. Especially the U.K. rags.
I've always said that Wolfowitz is a stand up guy. God bless our troops.

"Sikh's wear turbans, too,..." If you observe a Sikh turban closely you'll see it is a bit different than the type you see on OSB's head or other Muslims.

Thanks for the post. I'm so proud of our fighting men and our country.

Thanks for being brave enough to ask your dumb (NOT) question. I learned a lot from the replies, too. Y'all are a terrific source of info!
To: Apollo
No. I said pip, not pimp.
But if you're interested in dating Gladys Night, I can put in a good word for you.

I never have a problem with someone asking questions. To me that is not a sign of ignorance. It is a sign that one wishes to learn.
Actually, by her asking the question, it caused me to look it up. I had a general idea to begin with, but I learned a lot more.
This is a great place to pick people's brains and learn interesting things, when we're not busy bashing each other's brains in.
Now someone asking the same question over and over, that's annoying.
