This appears to be poorly researched. The known letters were mailed Sept. 18 and Oct. 9, not Sept. 30.
I thought the Mayo Clinic had developed a new test that diagnosed anthrax within hours or even minutes?
I admit, I don't know -- the Mayo test may not be the same as an antibody test administered to someone who has already recovered from the disease.
Pre-ordained "informant" is more likely. If the truth becomes known, I'm betting the anthrax boys "worked with" the FBI.
I've suspected that the CDC was political. Now I'm sure of it. The fact that they didn't check this guy out without having to be publically pushed says a lot.

New Jersey physician tests negative for anthrax
Further testing has found that a New Jersey physician did not contract skin anthrax, state health officials said.
A blood sample from Dr. Gerald M. Weisfogel was sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after he called a state hot line and said he had developed a suspicious skin lesion in early September - before the first-known anthrax-laced letters were mailed.
The blood test, though, did not find any antibodies showing that the cardiologist had been infected with anthrax, officials said Thursday.
Weisfogel, who could not be reached for comment, said he thought his skin lesion was a spider bite and treated himself with antibiotics. He only asked to be tested for anthrax at the urging of a relative.
New Jersey has had seven confirmed or suspected anthrax cases, including six postal workers and an accountant who works near the Hamilton mail processing facility. All have since recovered.
