They myth is that designating some arbitrary point of personhood is anything but self-serving.

The myth is that designating some arbitrary point of personhood such as conception is nothing but self-serving.

This is a common misperception.

Actually I was referring to cases in which people were charged with manslaughter for killing an unborn child due to traffic accidents, shootings and other acts.

Self-serving implies that some personal gain can be realized. I have nothing to gain or lose. As a man I can't have my unborn child murdered. However as a taxpayer I can be held responsible for the care and education of children that are born. Hardly an example of personal gain on my part. I suppose it could be self-serving for the unborn child but that would imply that he/she is a person. And we couldn't have that could we?

Rationally, conception is the only non-arbitrary designation. Any other point in the human lifecycle is purely based on convenience.

Still silent on the obscenity question, why?

Yes, that is a bit of stickly wicket.

As I recall, those are usually late term pregnancy. Late term pregnancy fall into a group I would classify as "abort only in the case of dire need such as saving the life of the mother." These late term fetuses are so close to being persons that, if at all possible, one should not interfer with them being allowed to fulfill their potential of becoming a person.

I have been informed by outraged Pro-Lifers that due to the magic of modern medicine that there should never be a need to abort a late term fetus to save the mother. They tell me that in each and every case (even those in the remotest parts of the world and in the most primitive of cultures) the mother and baby can survive. That is wonderful.

Wow. Kinky Woman!

The pictures are obviously doing their job. Nothing else seems to set you off as much as seeing them. I can understand why. They are the most effective weapon yet in the pro-life arsenal. Thanks for confirming that. I just sent them another donation.

In your case, the convenience is your desire force your will onto others.

Could you repeat the obscenity question. I must have missed it.

Glad to be of help. You should ask them to send me a Thank You note.

If I keep doing it will send them even more money? Maybe you will sell your car and your house to cover your donations if I just repeat a thousand times that I believe that you are really kinky for flashing those images.

What a ridiculous statement. At conception, an unborn child has all the tools to eventually become a fully formed physically recognizable adult. The first breath is arbitrary and has no bearing on weather the child is fully human or not. My son was born dead; he didn’t take his first breath until a few minutes after he was born. Was he not a human being until that point?

In your case, the convenience is your desire force your will onto others.

Society is based on forcing people to do the right thing. It only becomes morally questionable when the force is applied for personal gain. Laws keep people in line. Abortion is the ultimate act of forcing ones will on another.

Regarding the obscenity question: I asked that senses you felt pictures of aborted (murdered) children were pornographic or obscene, did you feel that the act that brought the child to that condition was obscene?

Actually I think you should send them some money. If they run out of money, you would have to find something else to complain about.

Only for the pro-abortion crowed.

I see, how convenient...

Truth is real. You have the choice to believe what you want to believe but no one can escape the consequences of believing incorrectly.

All of us have belived falsehoods in the past, usually with the falsehoods being insignificant. All of us will find some things that we believe to be true now to be false.

Jesus is not one of them. How do I know? Because I put God to the test and He communicated to me in a clear, concise fashion that Jesus is God.

Now, you can take my word for this. Or you can put God to the same test. Ask Him for something in Jesus name. If you are fair in your end of the bargain He will show you who He is.

Well, sort of. It does make me a little uneasy knowing that people are getting a sexual thrill out of flashing those pictures at me. Other than that, I think the whole campaign is pretty silly.

Now don't you worry your cute little head about that. I will find other things to complain about.

When training animals, it works best to reward positive behaviour. This particular animal (me) just showed you some positive behaviour, ie: I am against late term abortions. Instead of slapping me in the face with your condescending little statement, you could have givin me a little reward. Who knows, with enough little rewards I might become more Pro-choice.

Maybe eventually you will even try to refute the inescapable scientific fact that a new human being is created the moment the sperm joins the egg.

Yes I do, don't I. Most mainstream FReepers don't care enough about this issue to read and comment. Have you not noticed that it is the same small group of FReepers that are the Pro-life militants? I am the guy that is keeping these threads alive for you. You should be thanking me for this like others already have.

Gee, honey, I already have agreed to that. I do not have the slightest doubt that a human being (homo sapian) is created at the moment of conception. It is, after all, a thing of homo sapian DNA. How could it be anything but a human being.

The thing that will make particular sequence of DNA different from all other living creatures is that the homo sapian will acquire a soul when it takes its first breath.
