I wrote this last weekend after watching episode #9 of the HBO series "Band of Brothers" (don't sue me for using the same title, I couldn't help but feel that it was very appropriate).
With everything going on I felt that posting this as a thread is appropriate.
Veterans day is coming up and all our heroes past and present could use a kind word.
Sorry the pic is backwards. I still haven't found a server that will let me post pic's like I used to be able to, and I had to "borrow" this wonderful image.

Long time, no talk.
I've been off-line for a while but still check in from time to time when I can get on the 'puter.
Thanks for all the bumps lately.
Let me know what you think of this.

BTTT. Is that the cemetery where Patton is buried? I was there a few years ago. It's awesome to drive from Belgium into Luxembourg, through what was the Bulge. American flags and memorials in every town. Seeing all that, there's no denying there was some serious Good v Evil going on in that war. Thanks for the great post.

You are correct!
Every Memorial Day during the time I was stationed in Europe I took my family to the cemetary for the ceremony and to visit Gen. Patton and the men and women buried with him there (we would also visit Sandweiller).
We also made it a point to visit Hamm on POW/MIA Recognition Day and Veterans Day.
I tried to visit Bastogne as much a possible and have a web page about a volksmarch that I participated in back in 97 during the McAullife Days celebration.
If you are interested I can try to post the URL.

Outstanding!
I get nervous whenever I see the field of stars on the right side (or, upside down), especially lately .

We need to have a bunch of newspapers run a front page story depicting the proper way to hang the Stars and Stripes. Further they need to explain the proper care of the flag, I am constantly disappointed to see that people have just hung them up and seem to have forgotten about them. Showing the flag is nice but caring for the flag is better!!

This thread should be placed as a link on the USO Canteen Threads, don'tcha think?
Affirmative on it's being worth the fight. It was always worth the fight. Freedom always will be.

Perfect!!!!!
Funny thing...I'm currently reading Patton's book "War as I knew It". To the core of his being he understood the fight against evil.
Also...check out a GREAT book on how societies, such as ours, NEEDS to fight wars against evil.
Called "The Soul of Battle". By Victor Davis Hanson.
Great Book.

Yes it is worth it and we should take the fight to them with every ounce of our being and every weapon in our arsenal ... and we should prosecute it with extreme prejudice without sacrificing one ounce of our unalienable rights or our liberty ... that is what they want, to either destroy us or enslave us to the point where we are impotent.
Good to see you ... long time no post.

Good read. Thanks for the flag.
Nov. 11th will soon be here. Remember that thread started two years ago regarding "The Wall"? Maybe we should bring it out of mothballs.
