It turns out that C&R NFA items happen to be an exception to the Missouri law prohibiting NFA possession (provided the owner has a C&R or higher FFL).
The NRA-ILA state law summary neglects to mention this exception -- in fact, it declares MG possession to be illegal.
Fortunately, the very useful ATF greenbook has the relevant state law: Missouri Firearm Laws
