every time I have freeze and shut down by shutting power off
when it comes back up again
before it will go on
it says it is checking hard drive for errors cause I did not exit properly
should I still do what you said?

No, don't do it while connected, wait till you are off line. If you have never done this, I'd do the error checking first, then defrag,,

Ok, you have a different version of Windows I have. You can still check for errors when ever it isn't acting right and you should defrag every once in awhile..reguardless...

It should cut down on the number of crashes you have..I defrag about once a week...and everytime the puter doesn't act right I error check..
I think grannie ran Seti for awhile too....

Nope, I'm running early versions of W95..This laptop doesn't have room for the later versions....lol

grannie is a different kettle of fish than the rest of us cause she's had genuine first hand ET experiences
she actually saw a huge ET ship standing there in broad daylight
she can describe it perfectly
but the others around her did not seem to see it
I have friends who have had genuine ET experiences too
I haven't
those who do won't talk about them much -- cause they are ridiculed

I had windows 95 on my other puter
a lightning storm knocked out its motherboard
and it went to heaven
this one came with windows 98

I have no idea if there are ETs or not..I just think it"s kind of neat being involved with the biggest computing project ever.....

my puter freezes on average bout 3 times a day
but not every day
about 4 times a week
it never used to do that
it started bout 6 months ago

A couple of years ago this one got so it was screwing up right and left...Really was worthless..So I figured what the heck...Found out how to reformat the hard drive and started over...Wasn't a fun exercise, but I did it....lol

Ratty wants me to take it to someone to reformat hard drive
I bet it would help mine a lot too
but you know how it is
as long as anything works at all
you tend to just keep going
rather than have the commotion

instead I'll take it to have hard drive reformatted

Yes, but it gets so damn frustrating when the darn thing keeps screwing up...If you are not running a lot of programs or have a bunch of data stored..A geek could reformat and get her going again in short order...If Ratty recommended doing it I would.......

my hunch is that wimmen are too practical minded to be involved with Seti just for excitement of being involved with biggest puter project ever
wimmen usually like being involved in things where they can learn something they want to know
