Nice Rant!
In the early '70's, I had a lady friend who lived off Market st. in SF-- the "Boys" in the Neighborhood cared for her; she was ALWAYS "Safe!"
Through her, I met & interacted (socially) with NUMEROUS members of the "Gay" community.
Most of the "Community" was quite conservative @ the time--AND they were polite and considerate. (I even met one of the "Stars" of Bijou).
My--albeit Brief--"dealings" with the "gay Community"--indicates that "gays" are generally "Patriots"!

Thanks. I did read it. Perhaps I should have used "they intead of "he" but I still thought the thing was stupid. I'm tired of this nonsense.

Hiya Gabz! Good to see you!!!!!!!!!!
People don't know how to read. They assume the contents from the title. Frankly, I am getting real tired of it.
DON'T YOU KNOW HOW STOOPID YOU LOOK
WHEN YOU MAKE A COMMENT THAT IS TOTALLY OFF THE TOPIC??????????????????
I've always wanted to do that!

I'm still trying to find out when " gay" became an adjective for a homosexual and not a description of a good time or a happy persona. Between the Gay Nineties and the Gay Nineties.

I agree with you.
The only thing I have against homosexuals is only this: don't show it off in public.
I keep what I do in my bedroom to myself. Do the same!
The guy who wrote the article is not gay! He's got a good point

After all, only heterosexuals can hate.***
Just like only white Euro-descended Americans can be racist.
Wait, wait, wait, do I get the red lollipop for discerning that this guy is probably a hetero doing a tongue in cheek article?
And, even the mere symbolism of those images is kinda turning my stomach!
To: Gimlet
Hey - what is with this obsession with gays anyway?I dunno--but the Rev. Shelton threads get downright weird.

"I'M QUEER, I'M CONSERVATIVE... "
And obviously quite happy when the election
was finally awarded to Bush!

"
You say you would not read something from the Taliban. Well I agree that there is no point in reading repetitive diatribes but there is always a point in understanding one's enemies."
Okay.....and?
"But why equate an American exercising free speech with an autocratic, theocratic, fundamentalist, crazed, misogynist, homophobic member of the Taliban?"
Like I said....I didnt read the post, but I didnt equate an American exercising free speech with the Taliban....I equated Homosexuality (a lie from the pit subscribed to by idiots with a personal agenda) to the Taliban diatribe (a lie from the pit subscribed to by idiots with a personal agenda).
"They are sick and evil people who have no time for women, democracy, gays, freedom, individual liberties, free speech, difference, Christianity. Why behave like them?"
I am behaving like a Man of God who knows full well that God looks at Homosexuality as an abomination.
By the way, I could say "They (homos) are sick and evil people who have no time for women, democracy, staunch hetrosexuality, freedom, individual liberty to call a spade a spade, free speech, difference or Christianity."

I've been seeing this a lot lately. You have a good post here. When I first saw the title, I thought, not another gay thread, but it's not. Thanks, I'll stay and defend!

Wait, wait, wait, do I get the red lollipop for discerning that this guy is probably a hetero doing a tongue in cheek article? No! Anyone who can read and understand english got that the author is an hetero from the beginning.
