This is a REPOST of a Thread from last week. Please excuse me and don't consider this SPAM. The repost has been done only due to many 'popular requests' including Commonsense, ImpBill, and many, many others. Hard copy of this Commentary has been circulating through many Police Departments, Military circles and the latest circulation has been among some members on board the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt. These are questions that need to be answered about the true nature of the Enemy(s) of this nation and our American way life and our belief in Individual Self Government... Katherine

Since we have yet to hear of a Fatwah being issued for Bin Laden and all his followers we have our answer. We just simply do not want to hear it.

Here is how it goes, y'all:
20+ years ago, some Moslem clerics in Iran told us Islam is a nice peaceful religion. They told us Islam is the greatest thing since sliced bread. In a referrendum, they duped Iranians into voting 'yes' to an Islamic Republic.
That was the end of life as we knew it. The Islamic Republic brought hostage takings, animosity, hatred, an 8-year war, bloodshed, torture, mass exodus, ruin, impoverishment, and misery.
They want us to forget our national identity. They want us to forget that 1000+ years before Mohammad, ancient Persia was a proud and rich civilization. They want us to forget all that.
But now, we are waking up. We are Persians, not Arabs. Islam is not our religion. It was forced upon us after the Persian Emperor's army was defeated. We don't like the Islamic Republic. We don't want it. We want to be free.
Of all the countries in the middle east, the first country that will break the chain of Islamic tyranny will be Iran. Mark my word. People are unhappy. They want liberty. And those of us who are western educated are doing our best to spread ideas of liberty and self-rule to our friends and family back home.
It will be bloody, and it will be hard, but when Iran is free, you will see Iranians quoting Jefferson and Locke, not Arabic gobbldy gook from the Koran.

Then how do you explain our government, and the President specifically, not leveling with us. I can't explain and I can't understand it. We have not been given a true picture of the enemy. If you don't know the enemy, how do you defend yourself?
Should we expect another major attack here in the US?

Personally, I wouldent hold my breath waiting for that Fatwa to be issued. I seems that Islam has two faces, the one they show to "Infidels" and the other that they reveal only to themselves and their Moslem "Brothers". Once you cut through all the crap and the "why cant we just get along" slogans you are left with a simple truth.
Their true nature as shown to us, perhaps for the first time to many Westerners on 9/11. In the West Bank, Islamabad, Karachi and a thousand other places they cheered in the streets for OBL. They were delerious with glee, watching "infidels" die by the thousands.
I just wish the "news" media would grow a backbone and report these facts with the zeal that they normally reserve for a Software Mogul. The idea that AP would bow to threats is, in my opinion, one of the most under-reported stories in this whole mess.
Think about it, if all it takes to have a powerful and influential member of the media to not report the facts as they happened is to threaten them, I can see an entirely new strategy emerging for many of my favorite causes.
Beyond that, we must expect that the 5th Column of the press will continue to spoon feed us the pablum of conciliation and relativism that passes for reporting these days.
As for the chance that any alternative views will ever show up in the Islamic press is a pipe dream. The Islamic press is unlike the American press, they do take sides in this conflict. They are rooting for their home team and woe to the person who deters from the party line

The sooner the world sobers up and realizes that Islam is the sworn enemy of everything non-Islamic, the sooner we can live in reality instead of in illusion.
Islam is incompatible with any other belief system, and Islamics will continue to work toward becoming dominant and ultimately eliminating other belief systems.

I was friends with many Persians prior to the "revolution". They are some of the most educated, cultured and dynamic people I have met.
It pained me to see the deplorable condition that Iran has become, sort of Taliban-lite. All the despotic behavior but you do get to watch TV.
What a shame.

I have worked with some friends who escaped from Iran and they agree with your sentiments. I only hope you are correct in your prediction of Iran's future. I know your decription of history is correct.

If you don't know the enemy, how do you defend yourself? Our President does not have the freedom to freely state what can be understood in private. American troops have to be in Afganistan first to try to limit this war. To get to Afganistan they must either transit a Muslim nation or fight their way through one of these nations. I for one would much prefer to see peaceful transit for our troops. I note the GWB certainly knew in advance when our rangers would be touching down in Afganistan but he wisely did not say all he knew.
Should we expect another major attack here in the US?
Clearly George W. Bush has said as much and I have no reason to doubt this statement. i am not a government official so I can say what I think without repercussions on our troops in harms way. george W. Bush does not have that luxury. He is, however doing an admirable jon of leading this nation at preset IMHO.
