D*mned Straight! I, for one, intend to survive!

So suck it up, people; the Lord helps those who help themselves.

The Center for Cognitive Liberty & Ethics is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, law and policy center working in the public interest to protect fundamental civil liberties. The Center seeks to foster cognitive liberty – the basic human right to unrestrained independent thinking, including the right to control one’s own mental processes and to experience the full spectrum of possible thought.

You can be sure that in the minds of these ideologues, the supposed "right" of people to be debauched, to self-poison, to create, market, and consume pornography, to foist it upon the rest of society, to pollute the nation's blood supply and bankrupt the health research and health care budgets will always trump the right of children to their own innocence or the right of families to picnic in peace in a public park free from perverts, degenerates, and other libertarians.

Every time these human-potentialists write a screed they cause another hubristic horror to occur. Enough of these unAmerican ideologues!

13,227 arrests and people continue to commit murder. Let's just end this nonsense and put the money and effort chasing people who crash planes into skyscrapers.

Um, no. Our veto ends your idiotic proposal. Both murder and flying planes into skyscrapers shall continue to be illegal. If we run short of funds prosecuting both we can always tax ideologues and malcontents.

1.6 MILLION DRUG ARRESTS.

And how many terrosrist plots were unearthed?
By my count--1 at the Seattle border crossing in late '99.
It's about time priorities get re-aligned. Crack- heads and junkies dont need prison--they need treatment. Alcholics get half-way houses. Why do drug addicts get prison? Are pot-heads smashing into buildings and spreading bio-weapons around? Gotta Keep yer eyes on the prize.

But that would make too much sense.-

FreeTally: Your value as a Constitutional law scholar, sitting there passing judgment on what is a legal law and what is an illegal law, is worth exactly what anyone else is willing to pay you: ziltch. But don't let that fact stop your hubris.

Great. Now you can see that you woke up one of the slobbering watchdogs of 'goodthink'.

Frankly, I'm glad there are less drug threads. Very little useful debate ever took place.

I learned more about the legal perversities peculiar to America, but I can't say I ever saw an opponent converted.

I suppose at least we provided a sometimes entertaining spectacle for lurkers.

And that's not a bad thing. lol!

"Yeah, that one really cracked up the dissidents when the Soviets told it."

Now we are back to the fascists and jackboots, etc. etc.

actually I think there are a lot of people who have been "converted", but they are mostly lurkers. I've read plenty of posts from people who say that they were convinced that there is a better way to solve the drug problem then with blanket illigality at the federal level.

I used to think like that.

Very brief syopsys:

It's Illegal...the laws are unconstitutional

It's Immoral...the laws or the act or both?

ad hommin,, ad hommin, repeat as neccessary.

So, as we have always told you, you must believe just like the left says - the Constitution should not be literaly interpreted. It means whatever you want it to mean on a given day. Sorry, bud, you are just like the people you claim to hate. Its not a difficult document, and its pretty plain and clear as to what powers the Federal government has. Its pretty clear to all intelligent people what "rights" are when they are violated. Im not just going to back down and hand over my rights because dufuses like you have been so brainwashed by the establishment.

Yes, and YOU took us there with your bootlicking babble, "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." (Unless you can show why the Soviets couldn't say that to their dissidents.)

the supposed "right" of people to be debauched, to self-poison, to create, market, and consume pornography,

Humans have the natural right to do anything that doesn't violate another person's rights. None of the above activities violate any non-consenting party's rights, so all those activities are indeed rights.

to foist it upon the rest of society,

How exactly does this alleged "foisting" take place?

to pollute the nation's blood supply

You mean by giving blood while having drugs in one's system? Provide evidence that any libertarian supports that---or stand self-exposed as an ignorant blowhard.

and bankrupt the health research and health care budgets

How do drug users force health researchers to research drugs? And for both budgets, how are drug users any different in that regard from those who eat too many fatty foods and don't do enough exercise?

will always trump the right of children to their own innocence

How exactly do drug users violate this right?

or the right of families to picnic in peace in a public park

Provide evidence that any libertarian supports violations of that right---or stand self-exposed as an ignorant blowhard.

It offends me that Drug Warriors try to pass off their tyrannical twaddle as "conservative."
