I've been asked to post this heartfelt note from Ted Olson -- to all of you. Despite everything he's going through -- professionally and privately -- he hasn't forgotten the loves of his life ... and those of his beautiful wife Barbara, who obviously cared for you. Hence this email to you. God bless. God bless Ted and all those who died ... and live on. And God bless America.

Thanks for posting the note, Paul. I miss Barbara, and know she is looking down on us all, smiling her lovely, warm smile. My prayers to Ted and other family members.

Barbara was a great fan of Free Republic. We were great fans of her. She leaves a big empty spot in my heart. My prayers for Ted and her family and friends.

The best thing we could all do is purchase Barbara's latest book "The Final Days" and encourage others to do so. It would be a great tribute to a great lady.

Barbara's flame will forever burn in our hearts.
We will continue the fight.

Thank you for forwarding Mr. Olson's message. BKO was a valued person here at FR. I went back and made hard copies of her posts after the terror of 9/11. Somehow they are comforting. One of her posts was prophetic when she said, "so much activity, so little time...." BKO will always be in our hearts as a vital part of our life experiences. Mr. Olson, thank you for the part you played in giving us a real President, and thank you for sharing your lovely wife with us, if only for a moment. God bless.

Thanks, Paul. Each time I look on the wound at the Pentagon, I think about the many lost there that were friends to us ... and that Barbara indeed died among friends, true friends. She and Ted have done as much as anyone, if not more, to preserve the Republic. God bless them. Gopherit

Mr. Olson, Solicitor General of the United States of America, I just love the way that sounds. I watched every minute of your confirmation hearing. You were truly wonderful. Your honesty, your trust in GOD,in America and in our Constitution were a wonder to behold.
On that terrible horrible morning of 9-11 I watched in horror as our world changed forever. When it was announced that Your wife, Barbara was on the plane that hit the Pentagon, I felt like I lost a good friend. Truth is I did lose a good friend. I never met your wife personally but she had been on all the talk shows and was a wonderful defender of our Justice system and had a way of making laws easy to understand.
She could laugh at the Liberals and at herself as well. She did not take herself to seriously but understood what she was fighting for and defending. She was fighting for our Nation and she died for our Nation. She was a true American, as big a hero as the Firemen and Police Officers and Rescue workers that gave their lives for their country that day too. She let you know that her plane had been hijacked so you could do something about it. That took courage.
God bless you and keep you and your family safe from harm.

Decent, caring, civic minded people like the Olsons have the high moral character reminiscent of the highest ideals of the Athenians, in the world'd first democracy. Such people are rare treasures, precious jewels among us.

Paul, Thank you so much for taking the time to post the kind words of Mr. Olson.
Mr. Olson, I just want you to know that losing Barbara Olson has inspired me to be a more vocal conservative. Not just here on Free Republic, but during my daily life.
Now, whenever I assert a conservative view or engage a liberal, I think of Barbara Olson.
She lives on... in all of us.
To: Paul Rodriguez
Hats off to Mr. Olson. Barabara was truly a great women and a great American. She will be sorely missed by all of us who cheer on the great fighters and defenders of liberty and freedom.
First of Front and Right of Line.
Ask an old jarhead what that means. I would say that it is highly appropriate in describing a woman like Barbara.

Paul, thanks for posting this.
Ted, I worked at Interior when you were at Justice. Please accept my condolences. You were a staunch defender of private property and states' rights, and in spite of all, I know you will continue to defend our great constitution.
Praying For You,
Cowpoke

I feel terrible for what happened. Barbara was one heck of a lady, and she went down fighting as best she could - getting information out.
I didn't have the chance to know her - or read the books, but I'll put in an Amazon order sometime. Heck, Christmas is coming and I need to buy presents, so why not her books?
It's the least I can do.
