How many senators, regardless of party, do you suppose have to worry about getting booed off the stage in the biggest city of their "home" state? Especially one where the voters are overwhelmingly registered for that senator's party?

That would be like Ted Kennedy getting booed off the stage in Boston, or Bob Dole getting massively heckled and jeered in Topeka. And at a charity event, no less.

As a native New Yorker (Upstate), I've been stunned since last year that the folks back home actually elected her. Now I'm happy to see signs of hope that those voters are finally starting to see through the phony media-created image, and realize what a horrible mistake they made.

February 19, 1998 -

Cheers and standing ovations greeted U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Thursday, but U.S. threats to use force against Iraq ran afoul of skeptical Americans for the second straight day.

Great time to start a recall petition - eh?

ah...thank-you!

My memory is foggy on this story...but I think CNN took all of the info about the Ohio State jeering off of their site (back then)...and all of the other "town meetings" were in front of hand-picked crowds. (typical)

I just remember how happy I was to see folks from Ohio stand up against the corrupt Clinton Administration...I could not even remember what the subject was...just that I was happy someone jeered his representatives. ;-)

Thanks again

If I could live to see that, I could die happy! A nice touch would be Mary Jo Kopechne's parents living to see that as well.

"How could we not know this would be the wrong forum for Hillary?!" shouted one confidante. "These are cops and firemen who listen to right-wing talkradio. They still think she killed Vince Foster, for Christ sake!"

Yep, it's that old VRWC again. Hillary is an innocent. It couldn't be that she's an evil bitch from hell, could it?

I think it is also telling that they (Hillary's team) brought up Vince Foster...hahahahaha!!!

being in a union is paying someone to give you a job, and paying them to let you keep your job. unions outlived their purpose 80 years ago, and now are only democrat shills and theives designed to keep democrats in power....

Being in a union has worked out fine for my husband.

Having five children, we use our medical and dental benefits...ALL THE TIME! Believe me, my husband's union dues have only been a tiny fraction of the 10s of thousands of dollars that his medical plan has paid out for medical services. It is probably triple what he has paid in union dues.

Plus, my husband will retire in about a year, and his retirement pay will only be a few dollars less than he makes while working, we will have full medical/dental coverage - and he is young enough to start another career.

Being in a union is not so bad...he was glad to pay them to have job security and an outstanding retirement plan.

This afternoon (10/22/2001) Savage played the audio for this momentous event on his radio show. (That and the booing of Richard Gere). There's nothing like hearing her "thank" the crowd for the "warm" reception!
