A few comments that cost you nothing so that may be all they are worth. I am not a student of the Middle East, Islam, the Arabs or their culture in general.

The world has changed from the horse and buggy mentality to global or worldwide implications. What may not have been dreamed or thought about a hundred years or so ago is now reality. Thus to me we will never go back to the comfort of what we knew even in my beginning years. We as a nation, as a society, as a world will have interactions with each other that can bring almost instant repercussions either positive or negative.

Now are we prepared to deal with that as a nation? I don’t know but as you point out we may not be. We didn’t get where we are overnight and I don’t think we can turn this ship of state around overnight. Thus can we win or survive long enough to be in position to handle the war as you see coming. It is my fervent hope we can.

I see events like this present one unfolding as each group tries to unleash their form of world dominance. The question is can they pull enough groups together to pull it off. I don’t know but I suspect they have differences of opinion within their various factions such that they will not join in a total alliance to dominate.

Things will be forever changed for us. I hope we as a nation can learn to adapt quickly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and inviting me to respond.

Bush always understates and always ends up getting what he wants. It has been our policy to use nukes, if needed and if we are under chem/bio attack. The leadership of every nation on earth is well aware of that. Bush will mention that policy when it will do us some good to do so.

I've gone from thinking that "moderate, peaceful" Moslems were the Isalmic silent majority on 9/10, to hoping they were on 9/12, to being now resigned to the fact that they are an insignificant irrelevancy within the world of Islam.

President Bush said, "either you're for us, or you're for the terrorists." I don't hear a whole lot of Moslems speaking out very strongly against the events of 9/11. Half the Islamic world thinks that a Zionist conspiracy took down the Twin Towers. A good chunk of the rest thinks America did it. I haven't got much use for such people.

But I'm an open-minded guy, so here's my final offer to any "moderate" mullahs out there:

Roll out a big fat fatwa against bin Laden, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, PFLP, Sadaam Hussein and family, etc. and bring me their heads on pikes.

Do that, and I'll buy lunch.

These guys are persistant. They killed about 10 in the 1993 WTC bombing attempt, and came back in 2001 and killed 5,000.

The only thing I really want to see is the deportation of all Middle East Muslims who have come to this country in the past 10 years especially those who are not citizens. I don't want a national ID card, I don't want the constant living in fear, I don't care about their "rights"----according to their precious Koran they aren't supposed to be living amid infidels in the first place so we should help them out and get them back to and keep them in Islamic countries where they can practice their religion and hate all they want.
