It is a sad commentary on our nation, our government its laws and our schools and churches, mosques etc. that it takes an event so horrible as to make us come together as one in prayer to an Almighty, long forsaken by many. Now we pray for his help, we ask him to shoulder a mess of our own making. We choose bad leaders for political and selfish reasons, and then deny our mistakes.

We ask the Almighty to grant us help one more time and we ask the republicans in office to shoulder the work. Will the next election once again shove the Almighty, the republicans and the patriots, those who believe in our Constitution, back in the closet again? Will the Media tell you that lying, cheating, squandering tax dollars, grabbing your lands, selling your national security, dumbing down your children with socially engineered schools, and on and on is perfectly alright?

It isn't a question of being Ashamed of Jesus, it is a question of when-do-we-need-him.

Espousing Politically Correct-isms seems to undermine the beauty and truth of the Almighty.

You might ask why so many feel threatened by Christianity; as Americans, if we truly are Americans, that is our culture; that is why there is an America, Home of the Brave and Land of The Free.

:-) I'll write you a note, gladly, but I'm not the one who gets to decide if you go to Hell or not. :-) I'm assuming that if the Lord objected to Jews He could handle things without any Christian's help. Same goes for anybody who doesn't toe my own church's line. That seems to me to be an American concept, not just a Mormon one.

We have a President who is unashamed to pray, and to whom a Bible is more than a prop to use when in trouble. (I still don't understand why black religious leaders let themselves be used by Monica's pacifier like that.) We have many pro-religious voices. I saw a car well-covered with pagan bumperstickers yesterday, and the driver used turn signals appropriately and was courteous to some old lady who was being timid about merging. God bless America; I think we're doing as well as a free society can do...the Taliban and the Soviet Union are great cases in point of what happens when freedom of conscience is outlawed.

I agree that the Founding Father's never in their wildest dreams envisioned anything other than the Christian religion of many denominations inhabiting the USofA.

There is a case making it's way through the court system right now that asks that the name of Jesus not be invoked in any prayer of any political entity from local community meetings of the city council on up to the legislative branches.

Political correctness gone crazy again in the name of "free trade" and "open borders", and "diversity". It is fitting and just that the event that would slap us in the face, and endanger our existance, for abandoning our God would be an attack from a radical branch of a pagan religion.

While we are told to live in peace as much as possible with all men until He returns, it does not entitle us to abandon the holy name of Jesus. But that is the government we have now, and their future is getting dimmer every decade that goes by. Not if you consider money, we do well so far in money, and power, but that can all end in a heartbeat, and will if all that is founded on the shifting sands of chance.

Looking at history the last thing to go for a great nation is it's power and wealth, so I am thinking that while we may prosper for a time while losing our freedom and our Christian brith right, the end will be the same for us as for Rome and all the others.

If you're happy being Jewish and you're content that God finds you acceptable, why worry what any of us think? We live in a great country; freedom of religion extends even to smoking funny mushrooms and burning black candles. Probably half of all Free Republic thinks I'm going to hell just for being Mormon. We'll all find out who was right by and by. :-)
