It was January in NYC. No restaurant serves ice-t in January around here. Usually you can get it in April.

As a proud New Yorker, nothing makes me prouder than that we realize that phony and sweet facades aren't worth a damn. When the chips are down and even when they're not, the city is what it is. Honest. Maybe not the kind of honest some of you think but it's honest.

"Da rudinskis are outa Joisey."

Reminds me of the joke about the out-of-towner stuck in a cab in traffic jam on the Jersey Turnpike. The fellow in the car next to him gets out of his car muttering something about not being able to wait any longer and pulls down his zipper and starts peeing on the next car over.

The out-of-towner in the cab stammers his surprise to the cabby, "Jeesh, are ALL people from New Jersey like that?"

The cabby says, "he ain't from Joisey, he's from New Yawk!"

How do you know that?"

"Well, if he was from Joisey, he'd be pissing on his own car!"

(Okay, well maybe it loses something without the accents...)

...Jesus said, "Suffer the little children to come to Me", that's fine. Suffer the foolish to come to those that are not dazzled by brilliance, nor baffled by bullshit.

All right, I give up. What does "You'll get it in the springtime" mean. Yes I am a Tennesse guy.

It was just the waiter's way of saying that iced tea is not a wintertime drink in NYC -- like it is in God's country (Tennessee).
