I don't remember those guns. The 45 has clip and ammo? Can you imagine this being sold today?!
The gun grabbers would say it's worse than a "Bag O' Glass"!

...I think the dumbest of all is the helmets for bike riders... We made the coolest bike jumps in The Field. Our bike path went down an almost verticle drop, with the required dirt ramp, helped along with boards "found" at a house construction site. We never wore helmets. We made a neat-o tree fort with the left-over boards we "found". There was also a pond in The Field. We made a pier from the wood we "found" and in winter, we would shovel it off for ice skating. Our bike path was excellent for sledding, tobogganning and saucering. Remember those metal saucers, the ones where your butt froze to it?
When The Field was being readied for new houses and roads, we would pull all the survey sticks out of the ground, every time they were replaced.
How dare they wreck The Field!
BTW, it's people our age who are making the kids wear helmets. I'm happy to say, my kids never owned a helmet.

We didn't have computers in school. Closest was calculators that could add, subtract, multiply and divide. Only the rich kids had those.

We weren't rich by any means. Dad had to take a loan to get the computer.
The school didn't have much cash either. The only reason we had newer computers in junior high was because the computer\math teacher sold computers on nights and weekends. He did a lot for that school. I worked for him at the computer store and got a decent price on the system.

Not you! I was referring to calculators being so expensive just for basic math functions back in the early 70's, they were going for around $300. Did you know that today's hand held calculators have more computing power in them than the entire first Apollo spacecraft mission that went to the moon? Amazing.

Holy cow, I was SO in love with major matt mason. My brother got all the guys, but I played with them more than my twist N turn Francie doll. My favorite was the hunky blonde in the red suit, what was his name?
Those moon rover things and the space planes were really cool.
Only problem with those guys is that their wire armature would break and then they had useless, floppy appendages.
I used to play with one of their enemies a lot, some giant in pseudo-roman ultra spacey armor, with an eye that would light up. He was big enough to take Francie and her mod Cousin Casey out on a date.

"I stopped watching Brady Bunch after Robert Reed appeared in that disturbing episode of Medical Center, when Chad Everett turned him into a woman."
...it wasn't just an episode, it was for real!
I was shocked when I first learned Robert Reed was just another California "Girly-Boy".

Sgt. Storm! He rocked my boat. :)
And don't you think we need to send some of these to the Afghani children?

OH I remember those space food sticks that and Tang. Remember when Tang came in grape, orange and grapefruit flavors? Archie I loved Archie comics! What about The Flintstones and all of the spin-offs? What about Malibu Barbie w/sunglasses? Does anyone remember the Harlem Globetrotters or the Hudson Brothers show? What about the doubledecker bus show? There were so many good shows then.
To: SarahW
There is probably still a box or two on the shelf at my Mom's house.
Think they're still good?

To: Sabertooth
I don't know if they would still be good after 30 some years, but I'm sure you could sell them on E-bay, and make out like the Red Cross!

Who wants to play?
To: WIMom
Am I the only one is this age group that thought the Brady show was for dorks? We made fun of it at the time. I don't want to be associated with that dumb show. Couldn't we be the Anti-Hippies instead? There has to be a better representation with which most of us can identify. Please! If we have to use a TV reference, at least shows like the Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island and Andy Griffith were funny.

Anyone or their brothers ever build one of those cool models by Aurora?
I had this one...
To: Sabertooth
I still have King Kong, Frakenstein, Dracula, Godzilla, and the Hunchback... BTW I own a Hobby shop and a Model company bought up the Aurora rights and are selling them again!
