We need to start a "Let's Roll" Award to be given to anyone responding in a terrorist situation. The heroes from Flight 93 would be the first receipients of the award. The next would be the Medivac pilot from NM, and these guys from the Chicago flight.

My favorite aircraft of all time. So big when an accompanying fighter took off half of the wing and one of the tail sections, the pilots didn't even notice....

The "modern aircraft" hangar at the USAF Museum is probably one of my favorite spots on earth, and that's saying a lot because I'm a huge WW II warbird fanatic. But, there's just something about having a B-47, B-52, B-58, and XB-70 in one enclosed space...talk about your "aluminum overcast!"

The thing that gets you about the XB-70 isn't so much its surface area, it's how tall it is. B-52s, bulky and imposing as they are, just squat. An XB-70 reminds me of a huge white heron or crane, standing what seems like fifteen feet off the ground on those tall, thin landing gear.

But if you want big, NOTHING beats the B-36 Peacemaker. You can see that sucker's tailfin from anywhere in the WW II hangar. Heck, they had to wheel it in, and then build the back wall of the hangar behind it! Six turnin' and four burnin'!

I am a physical therapist (6'2", 225) with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I'm a short thin guy with no belt and I would fight anyway.

Better to buy it fighting than sitting in your seat screaming your lungs out.

Besides, while I was inconveniencing the hijacker, some big dude might gain a little time to get in a few whacks.
