"The French surrender....again"

I want to reiterate what I said on another thread in support of your comment...

Remember that the French were such fickle friends at the begining of WWII that their troops in North Africa actually fired on Patton's men. They were an enemy of the US in Operation Torch - Patton had to open a can of wup-ass to wake them up and join the Allied effort.

When the Marines arrived in France in WWI the Germans were assaulting towards Paris and their precious generals were in full retreat. After an order to join the retreat, the comment from the Marine commander was, "Retreat, Hell we just got here." The Marines stabilized the line ... Result: French speak French not GERMAN.

To whom it applies: save your flames for someone who might be persuaded to sing Kumbaya.

"Trust me. I hate cheese."

The first step to overcoming an addiction is to admit you have a problem ;^)

In English that would be "Baluchi" -- the tribe of people who live in the border regions of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. They are known to have suffered under the Taliban, and they have great hatred for any government that tries to keep its thumb on them. At one time in the 1970s I remember there was a movement among them for an independent Baluchistan.

The only problem I have with cheese is keeping it down.

Remember Carlos the Jackal? He was a one man Bin Laden. During the 60's he traveled the world murdering political figures, and getting away with it. The French government had him captured many times during his reign of terror, and always managed to let him loose. The government of France is a disgrace, although the people in the northern part of France are wonderful people.
