Meanwhile, the Muslim builders are not yet done. Using forbidden heavy earth-moving equipment, they are now excavating a northerly channel on the Temple Plaza heading in the direction of the Dome of the Rock, whose gilt and blue faience façade dominate the Jerusalem skyline. Breaking into the bedrock in this area, archeologists warn, would also harm the gold-topped Dome, which sits on that rock.

is there anything in the koran with words to the effect 'thou shall not tempt allah'?

"...is there anything in the koran with words to the effect 'thou shall not tempt allah'?..."

Based on what we've seen of his followers, and their philosphies, my best guess is that 'allah' is no stranger to tempting, having done a bit of it himself. (beginning with Eve in the Garden of Eden)

The source has frequently proved unreliable. So, I don't know if the news about the cracks is true. But there have been many stories over the past few years confirming all the background to the story about the digging and the rest.

If this is true, and the Mosque is at risk of collapsing it's pretty ominous. As many Freepers know, some religious Jews would like to demolish the mosque and rebuild the Jewish Temple. With that background, this could set off a huge reaction.

The cracks and bulges are real. Other sources reported this long before Debka posted it here.

I would like to demolish it--scrub the Rock so no trace of it exists--and wash the whole site with pigs' blood.

Just a practice session for the Kaa Ba.

If so, then the cracks have been around for a while, so maybe it's not on the verge of collapse. I sure hope so.

Before you get too carried away, Jews also consider pigs "unclean."

Palestinian Authority spokesman Ahmed Abdul Rahman announced gravely over Radio Palestine yesterday that Israel planned to exploit a small stone that fell off the top of the Western Wall of the Temple Mount, the Jewish prayer place, to move in and take control of the entire Muslim site. He also mentioned the cracks, but declared, without explaining how, that they were part of an Israeli plot.

Doesn't the Koran have ANYTHING in it about lying??? I swear , those people couldn't tell the truth to save their own lives. Surely, there is a punishment for lying and most of these will go to h*ll.

I must say I find the Arabs in Israel particularly lacking in morals, honor and integrity.

As many Freepers know, some religious Jews would like to demolish the mosque and rebuild the Jewish Temple.

If many Freepers "know" that, then many Freepers are mistaken. The people who want to rebuild the Temple are not religious Jews. The idea that the Temple can be rebuilt by man is not Jewish belief. (It might be Christian belief)

The government of Israel has never allowed the "Temple Mount Faithful" to lay a cornerstone for a Third Temple. Far from being in favor of it, religious Jews would be opposed to it. Religious Jews are forbidden by their religion even to walk on the Temple mount.
